Yoshi Tatsu wins 26-Superstar WrestleMania Battle Royal

t was a battle of pure frenzy and free-for-all mayhem, where the only way to triumph was to stay alive as 25 other Superstars were being hurled over the top rope and onto the stadium floor. And amidst the intense match that fit like a glove leading into the towering grandeur of The Show of Shows, Tatsu proved his WrestleMania mettle.

The charismatic Superstar scored a victory of note, outlasting a powerful plethora of combatants to capture WrestleMania glory. In the final moments of the brutal match, Tatsu sent Zack Ryder over the top rope. Although Ryder was able to hold on, the quick-thinking Tatsu delivered a lightning-fast round kick, sending the final obstacle in the way of his amazing victory crashing to the ground.

From the moment the electrifying Tatsu entered the ring, the energized crowd seemed eager to be in his corner. And with such a huge WrestleMania triumph under his belt, every fan in attendance is now wondering how the young grappler will use his momentum to take Monday Night Raw by storm.

Vickie Guerrero's team wins the 10-Diva Tag Team Match

In the closing moments of the 10-Divas Tag Team Match at WrestleMania, the Official SmackDown Consultant slowly scaled the ropes and then launched herself onto a prone Kelly Kelly, crushing the blonde beauty and picking up the win for her team on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

It was an unexpected end to the wild battle pitting Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Eve, Gail Kim & Beth Phoenix against Women’s Champion Michelle McCool, Divas Champion Maryse, Layla, Alicia Fox & Vickie. After a fracas that saw nearly every Diva in the match nail their trademark maneuvers, it came down to The Glamazon and Guerrero. But a sneak attack by the Women’s Champion put Phoenix out of the bout, allowing Vickie to do the unthinkable. With a helping hand from her team, Guerrero scaled the ropes and performed a “hog splash” onto Kelly Kelly that nearly shook the University of Phoenix Stadium.

While Kelly will still be feeling the effects of Vickie’s considerable impact tomorrow, it is Beth Phoenix who most wanted to get her hands on the shrill SmackDown Consultant. After being pinned by Vickie on Friday, The Glamazon would like nothing more than to shut her big mouth

Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk

At WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio reigned supreme over CM Punk, defending his family’s honor while saving himself from a forced induction into The Straight Edge Society.

Mysterio’s intense battle for freedom with The Second City Saint raged fast and furious on The Grandest Stage of Them All. From the opening bell, both Luke Gallows and Serena made their presence felt, interfering whenever possible in their savior’s favor. But, despite Punk’s ruthless attack and the actions of his loyal cronies, Mysterio would not give in. And his heart-filled refusal to be beaten would not go unrewarded. When The Straight Edge Society tried to prevent the masked Superstar from dialing-up the 619, Mysterio went to work, countering Punk’s GTS and sending him flying into the interfering Gallows. Then, before the capacity crowd, Mysterio rang-up 619 on his second attempt and successfully defeated his Straight Edge nemesis.

The volatile paths of The Master of the 619 and The Straight Edge Superstar collided with catastrophic fallout on The Road to WrestleMania. Punk, along with his faithful disciples Luke Gallows and Serena, assaulted Mysterio with brutal back-to-back attacks on SmackDown. Mysterio cost The Straight Edge Savior two huge opportunities, pinning him at WWE Elimination Chamber and costing him his WrestleMania Money in the Bank Qualifying Match against Shelton Benjamin.

Punk “crossed the line” when he and The Straight Edge Society ridiculed Mysterio and his family as they attempted to celebrate his daughter’s birthday on SmackDown. In the midst of his merciless verbal taunts, the calculating Punk issued a WrestleMania challenge to his emotionally-charged adversary.

One week later, Mysterio accepted Punk’s Show of Shows challenge with fury in his eyes. But, when Gallows triumphed over The Master of the 619 later that night, a stipulation was set in stone that The Ultimate Underdog must win at WrestleMania or take the Straight Edge pledge.

Rey Mysterio’s victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All has allowed him to stay clear of everything he detests. But considering the deplorable actions of CM Punk in recent weeks, has the masked Superstar seen the last of The Straight Edge Society?

Randy Orton wins Triple Threat Match vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes

Overcoming the odds, the teacher outclassed his former students as Randy Orton defeated Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes in a Triple Threat Match at The Showcase of the Immortals. On the biggest night of the year, Orton punted Rhodes in the head and evened the score with DiBiase with an RKO, leading to The Viper’s victory.

For DiBiase and Rhodes, who made their WrestleMania debuts, a victory would have certainly set either one of them on the path to follow in the footsteps of their respective WWE Hall of Fame fathers, “The Million Dollar Man” and Dusty Rhodes. But their egos were fed by the spectacle of WrestleMania and the sold-out crowd, putting them at odds and giving the more experienced Orton an advantage.

At one time, The Legacy was a force to be reckoned with in WWE. Orton took the eager young Superstars and set them on the path to pave their own roads toward greatness. While The Legacy seemed unstoppable, the egos of Rhodes and DiBiase would become too big for Orton to manage. The Viper would even square-off at times with the multi-generational Superstars. While the trio faced adversity, even when Rhodes cost Orton the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, The Legacy would always find a way to remain united until WWE Elimination Chamber.

The tension overflowed at the new pay-per-view when Cody Rhodes tossed a lead pipe into Satan’s Structure for DiBiase to utilize on John Cena. DiBiase used the pipe against both Cena and Orton and, in a moment of ultimate defiance, chose to eliminate his former mentor. The Legacy imploded with the two young Superstars becoming estranged from The Viper and out to prove that they were the better competitors.

At WrestleMania, there was no more bickering as these three Superstars squared off. The match seemed like a handicap match at times, with DiBiase and Rhodes teaming against Orton. But it was truly every man for himself and DiBiase and Rhodes would argue over who should be the victor, allowing Orton time to recover. The Legacy was broken and each man was out to prove that their legacy would be the one elevated on The Grandest Stage of Them All. After a devastating double-elevated DDT, Orton punted Rhodes and hit DiBiase with the RKO, pinning him for the win.

Triple H def. Sheamus

It has been said, “If you come at the king, you best not miss.”

Sheamus would have been wise to heed these words before he stepped in the ring with Triple H on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Despite a frenzied effort, the Irish Superstar failed in his quest to dethrone The King of Kings, falling to The Game at WrestleMania after a Pedigree in the center of the ring.

The victory was far from an easy one for Triple H, however. The Game felt the power and complete lack of respect from the first-ever Irish-born WWE Champion right from the bell. Battering Triple H both inside and outside the ring with clubbing blows and explosive kicks, Sheamus nearly made good on his promise to destroy his opponent.

In the end, however, it was a perfectly timed Pedigree from The Cerebral Assassin that would seal the Irishman’s fate and give Triple H the win.

Triple H had warned Sheamus to think twice before challenging him at WrestleMania. But after being pinned by The Game at WWE Elimination Chamber, the Irish Superstar was hell-bent on getting retribution against The King of Kings. Vowing to make an example of Triple H, Sheamus attacked his nemesis at every turn leading up to The Showcase of the Immortals. His failure to defeat Triple H will only further fuel The Celtic Warrior's ire.

Unified Tag Team Champion Big Show & The Miz def. John Morrison & R-Truth

Despite John Morrison & R-Truth getting the best of Big Show & The Miz in recent weeks, at WrestleMania XXVI, they weren’t able to keep that momentum as Show-Miz picked up a huge win to retain the Unified Tag Team Championships.

Interestingly enough, it was just one year ago, in a pre-show match to unify the World and WWE Tag Team Titles, Morrison & The Miz were fighting together. Now, they both have come full-circle and are again battling on The Grandest Stage of Them All for the Unified Tag Team Titles – except this time, they are bitter rivals on opposing teams.

Show-Miz was formed only a few months ago with the assistance of Raw’s special guest host John Heder, and since defeating DX and The Straight Edge Society in a Triple Threat Match to become champions, they have seemed unstoppable.

When The Friday Night Delight & SmackDown’s rapping Superstar were teamed together several weeks ago, there were some doubts about their ability to work as a unit, but the critics were quickly silenced when the duo defeated Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty to become No. 1 contenders.

Of course, always willing to give his two cents on any subject, The Miz expressed his disapproval for having to defend his titles against the seemingly makeshift team of his former partner & R-Truth, but the self-proclaimed “Awesome One” would soon be eating crow.

Morrison & R-Truth quickly let Show-Miz know “What’s up!” by decimating them in what was supposed to be a tag team match, and have continued to one-up Big Show & The Miz around every turn – including a huge one-on-one victory for Morrison over The Miz on Raw.

Unfortunately, a WWE Superstar’s career is filled with peaks and valleys, and as a team, the challengers found themselves in a valley at WrestleMania XXVI, and after Morrison was knocked out by a vicious punch from Big Show, they were left empty-handed as Show-Miz retained the championships.

Though Morrison & R-Truth will likely continue their quest to prove themselves as a team and win the Unified Tag Team Titles, at The Showcase of the Immortals, it was Big Show & The Miz left standing with all the glory.

Jack Swagger wins Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Jack Swagger is known throughout the WWE Universe for his incredible amateur wrestling background. But at WrestleMania XXVI it was “The All-American American’s” willingness to take risks and put his body on the line that brought him victory in the first-ever 10-Man Money in the Bank Ladder Match and the contract for a guaranteed World Title Match that comes with it.

During the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, qualifying matches were held on both Raw and SmackDown, where the brands’ hungriest Superstars competed for a chance to win one of WWE’s most coveted prizes. On the March 1 episode of Raw, Jack Swagger defeated Santino Marella, earning his place in the yearly contest, and beginning his trip to The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Though Swagger was willing to do anything to get his hands on the Money in the Bank briefcase, “The All-American American” had numerous equally ambitious competitors standing in his way. For the first time-ever the annual Money in the Bank Ladder Match was contested between 10 Superstars, only adding to the chaos within the ring.

Superstars battled atop the ladders throughout the match, but the contest was ultimately won when Swagger knocked Christian to the mat below using the Money in the Bank Briefcase itself. Though “The All-American American” walked away the victor, other Superstars also went to extraordinary lengths to obtain the coveted briefcase, as evidenced by Kofi Kingston using a broken ladder as a pair of makeshift stilts, and Evan Bourne hitting his awe-inspiring Shooting Star Press of a pair of ladders.

The Money in the Bank Match was a hotly contested one as it was filled with veterans in the dangerous contest such as Matt Hardy, MVP, Kane and Shelton Benjamin. The match also hosted younger up-and-coming competitors as well, such as Dolph Ziggler and Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, who competed in multiple qualifying matches on SmackDown before gaining admittance into the contest.

World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho def. Edge

World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and Edge brought everything to their very personal war in front of more than 72,000 members of the WWE Universe inside the University of Phoenix Stadium. And finally – after weeks of hostile posturing – it was Jericho who reigned supreme and walked away with his World Title.

After the match, an enraged Ultimate Opportunist brutally Speared Jericho from atop the announce table and through the ringside barricade.

Clearly, we haven't seen the last of Edge's fight to regain the World Title.

Once close allies, these former tag team partners hit a major crossroads last July when Edge suffered a potentially career-ending Achilles injury.

But in January at Royal Rumble, The Ultimate Opportunist shocked the entire WWE Universe by returning to WWE to win the Royal Rumble Match.

Not to be outdone – a month later inside the Elimination Chamber – Jericho pulled off a stunning win over The Undertaker, thanks to some help from Shawn Michaels.

With both Superstars full of momentum, the WWE Universe knew it would witness a stellar battle at WrestleMania. Neither Superstar disappointed.

However, now that Edge could not win Jericho's title, how can he possibly live with himself? If there was bitter anger before, things are sure to get downright ugly now.

John Cena def. Batista (New WWE Champion)

He was one competitor from victory at 2005’s Royal Rumble – but Batista upended him. He was one second from basking in glory at 2008’s SummerSlam – but Batista refused to quit. He prevailed over five others to capture the WWE Title at this year’s Elimination Chamber – but Batista came and fought it away.

During some of the most pivotal moments of his career, John Cena has failed to overcome the force of just one man: Batista. Until now.

After an intense clash between two of WWE’s preeminent powerhouses on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Cena finally unleashed all manner of fury on The Animal, captured his seventh WWE Title and can once again proclaim, “The Champ … is … here!”

The victory, however, was far from assured. In the weeks leading up to the brawl, Batista successfully employed psychological warfare, worming his way inside Cena’s psyche, mocking his squeaky-clean image and trying to convince him that he could never defeat The Animal. However, just six days prior to WrestleMania, Cena crashed through a phalanx of security and attacked his tormentor on Monday Night Raw, vowing that Batista “would never keep [him] down, no matter what.”

True to his word, Cena entered the match with a full tank of gas and plenty in reserve. The two Superstars locked in various holds early in the match, intent on wearing down their opponent. As the match progressed, the two powerhouses began to trade cement-shattering blows. As a result, a hint of fatigue glimmered on each of their brows, but neither would relent. Instead, Cena kicked out after a rumbling Batista Bomb, and The Animal also escaped in the wake of an emphatic Attitude Adjustment. Finally, though, Cena would clamp down upon Batista with a savage STFU, leaving The Animal no choice but to tap out.

In the end, Cena displayed the steely resolve of a warrior, vanquishing any self-doubt he harbored leading up to the match and returning to form as “The Champ” on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Bret Hart def. Mr. McMahon in a No Holds Barred Match

Simple albeit prolonged chain reaction: Vince screwed Bret in 1997; Vince screwed Vince weeks ago on Raw; and at WrestleMania XXVI, Bret finally screwed Vince with excellent execution, as The “Hit Man” cemented this Show of Shows as perhaps the best there ever will be.

With the support of the Hart family, who double-crossed and foiled the scheme of The WWE Chairman, the pink and black colors waved proud in victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All, mending a 12-year wound for The Hit Man.

It was nearly a repeat performance of the Montreal Screwjob, but at a greater magnitude when Mr. McMahon revealed his fully funded lumberjacks: The Hart family, Dynasty and all. However, blood proved thicker than The Chairman’s liquid assets, as Bret’s kin betrayed the billionaire in the No Holds Barred Match and took up arms against the man who defiled their family name for so very many years.

The Excellence of Execution unleashed more than a decade of malice onto the man who tarnished an incomparable career of a genuine champion, with or without a gold prize in his possession. Swinging a tire iron and steel chair at McMahon – at least one strike for every year since his unsavory departure from WWE – the fury in The Hit Man’s eyes told a story of justice and attrition.

Then, to lock in vindication and serve his mortal nemesis a 12-year brew of retribution, Hart clinched the legs of The Chairman for a Sharpshooter. It was the moment that not just Bret, but also the legion of WWE Universe members in the University of Phoenix Stadium and around the globe waited more than a decade to experience.

McMahon quickly surrendered, pounding his palm against the mat with a rhythmic pulse similar to the intro of Hit Man’s entrance music, which then sounded instantly to both signal and accentuate victory.

Hoisted by his Hart brethren in celebration of Bret “Hit Man” Hart’s unbelievable return from a career-ending concussion, a stroke and so many more tribulations, WrestleMania XXVI became a conquest bigger than Yokozuna at WrestleMania X, more emphatic than “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13.

On March 28, 2010, the myth of “The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be” was tested and proven, live in front of 72, 219. The Hart still beats and perhaps stronger it ever will beat.

The Undertaker def. Shawn Michaels

One could argue that it wasn’t Shawn Michaels who lost on The Grandest Stage of Them All Sunday night. Yes, Michaels fell in defeat to The Phenom, who extended his unbeaten WrestleMania streak to an unprecedented 18-0. However, by ending The Showstopper’s storied career, The Deadman effectively provided the WWE Universe with perhaps its greatest collective loss in WWE history: the end of an icon’s ring career.

Their rematch was destined to happen – many believed that as soon as their epic first confrontation at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania concluded one year prior. It certainly remained foremost in the mind of HBK, who had demanded another opportunity against The Phenom at The Show of Shows since last December’s Slammy Awards ceremony on Raw. Yet after months of calling out The Deadman and coming up short in bids to earn a rematch, Michaels finally succeeded after costing The Undertaker his World Heavyweight Title inside the Elimination Chamber last February.

Of course, garnering The Undertaker’s sole, undivided attention is a double-edged sword. The Phenom finally agreed to face The Showstopper one more time at WrestleMania – with the stipulation that it would be Shawn Michaels’ last time as a WWE Superstar, should he fail to end “The Streak,” a prize that many would equate to a World Championship … or perhaps hold in even higher regard.

Sunday’s rematch between HBK and The Undertaker was only the fourth such contest to end a WrestleMania without championship gold on the line. However, it was, by far, the most important of those matches. Furthermore, indecision or controversy was all but eliminated by the stipulation that this “Streak vs. Career” Match could end only via pinfall or submission.

“I wouldn’t have agreed to this match if I wasn’t at a place where I was ready to take on the inevitable, which is the end of my career,” Michaels told WWE.com in an exclusive interview hours before the confrontation. “I like to be a man of my word. I’d like to honor what I said to The Undertaker … that if I don’t beat his streak, I will walk away.”

That said, Michaels was more than ready Sunday night. Before 72,219 fans inside the University of Phoenix Stadium, fans’ loyalties were divided as “Mr. WrestleMania” gave the Showstopping performance of his career – and a match that must have left The Undertaker wondering, even if just for a moment, whether or not he could defeat HBK at a second consecutive WrestleMania.

The Phenom had good reason to wonder. After an offensive onslaught to open the match, he jarred his left knee on the mat while going "Old School" off the top rope. Michaels, seeing how his adversary favored his leg, immediately took advantage, directing the focus of his offense toward the injured appendage. And the occasional posters of "17-1" throughout the stadium seemed raised a little higher than before.

It would take much more than great strategy to stop The Undertaker's streak, however. In fact, he nearly put The Showstopper's career into the grave several times early in the battle, including a devastating Tombstone on the outside floor that would have rendered lesser opponents to pure dust. Even the most divided of fans, however, had to be amazed not only by Michaels' resiliency, but his wherewithall to counter a Hell's Gate submission into a quick-two count, then connecting with one of the loudest Sweet Chin Musics ever heard inside the ring.

The Undertaker barely kicked out, then almost dealt Michaels his own graveyard symphony. But another confrontation on the outside floor resulted in more Sweet Chin Music that planted The Deadman onto the announce table, and HBK's moonsault off the top rope that drove both Superstars through the table.

Despite seeming to have little idea where he was at the moment, The Phenom refused to stay down, even after a third chorus of Sweet Chin Music. More than 72,000 strong felt that the end might be near for Michaels, though, especially as The Deadman caught "Mr. WrestleMania" with a crushing chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver.

They were wrong. Michaels kicked out by the narrowest of margins, impressing even the clearly frustrated Undertaker. Mustering perhaps the greatest sign of respect he could offer, The Deadman stopped himself from delivering his cutthroat motion.

Michaels, defiant to the end, finished the motion for his adversary, then slapped The Undertaker in the face. He, more than anyone else, understood that between the Streak and the career, something had to give.

The Undertaker, with fire in his eyes, obliged his noble opponent. With another devastating Tombstone, he silenced Shawn Michaels' career once and for all.

Though it seemed impossible to conceive, Michaels and The Deadman outdid their epic confrontation from 2009 – a match that was deemed universally as Match of the Year. And the sold-out crowd in Phoenix made sure their Superstars knew it, with chants of "This is awesome!" and "Thank you, Shawn!" filling the stadium. And, in a moment never before witnessed, the often-emotionally devoid Deadman acknowledged a very emotional Michaels as well.

In his seventeenth and final WrestleMania as an in-ring competitor, Michaels motioned to the WWE Universe, professing his undying gratitude and love. And like a true ring warrior, he exited the stadium in the Valley of the Sun with his head held high - and a career that will live on as long as any WrestleMania streak The Undertaker can achieve.

STU HART

Stewart Edward "Stu" Hart, CM (May 3, 1915 – October 16, 2003) was a Canadian amateur wrestler, professional wrestler, promoter and trainer. Hart founded Stampede Wrestling, a promotion based in Calgary, Alberta, and was the father of famous wrestlers Bret and Owen Hart. Along with Bret and Owen, Hart's trainees included future world champions Chris Jericho, Edge, Christian and Chris Benoit
Hart played football for the Edmonton Eskimos in the 1938 and 1939 seasons. Stu Hart began amateur wrestling when he joined the YMCA in Edmonton in 1929. By 1937 he won a gold medal in the welterweight class from the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada. His amateur career peaked in May 1940 when Hart won the dominion Amateur Wrestling Championship in the light heavyweight category. It must have been a bittersweet win for Hart as by that time the Phoney War had ended in Europe, and World War II had erupted. This led to the cancellation of the Olympics ending one of Hart's greatest dreams. Hart did enlist in the Canadian Navy and served as the Director of Athletics.

Hart was trained in catch wrestling as a young boy by a bunch of older boys. They used to 'stretch' him every day, but Stu kept coming back. Stu once said "his head would be blue by the time they let go of him". Stu taught this 'shoot style' to all who trained under him in the 80's & 90's with the thought that teaching his students real submission moves would make their pro wrestling style sharper.

It was during his service that Stu was introduced to professional wrestling. After recovering from a car accident, Stu competed in various exhibition matches to entertain the troops. In 1946, while receiving training from Toots Mondt, Hart debuted in New York and embarked on a long, eventful career, at one point wrestling a tiger and a grizzly bear.

In 1948, Hart established Stampede Wrestling, which was responsible for developing many second generation wrestling superstars. Three years later, he purchased a mansion in Patterson Heights, Calgary. The Hart House is now considered a historical site for the many famous figures that had passed through its doors. Its basement, known as the Dungeon, provided training grounds with an extensive legacy all its own.

A coach and mentor to countless young athletes, and a generous supporter of community life in Calgary, Hart, a loyal benefactor to more than thirty charitable and civic organizations including the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children and the Alberta Firefighters Toy Fund was appointed on November 15, 2000 to the Order of Canada. He was investitured on May 31, 2001.

WWE will be officially inducting Stu Hart in the WWE Hall of Fame, class of 2010.

Stu considered family to be his biggest achievement in life. For 53 years he was married to U.S. born Helen Hart ('nee Smith ) (1924 - 2001) and together they raised twelve children in the Hart mansion. Many of his children went on to become wrestlers or were otherwise involved in wrestling. The couple have thirty-three grandchildren and one great-grandchild

Hart was admitted to Rockyview General Hospital on October 3, 2003 for an elbow infection and then developed pneumonia. He also suffered from ailments associated with diabetes and arthritis. He had a stroke and died 13 days later at the age of 88.

In 2005 the City of Saskatoon announced that a street in the city's new Blairmore Suburban Centre development will be named Hart Road in Stu Hart's honor.

BOB UECKER

Robert George "Bob" Uecker born January 26, 1935) is an American former Major League Baseball player, later a sportscaster, comedian and actor. Uecker was given the title of "Mr. Baseball" by Johnny Carson.
Though he sometimes joked he was born on a colored oleo run to Illinois, Uecker was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up watching the minor-league Milwaukee Brewers at Borchert Field. He signed a professional contract with his hometown Milwaukee Braves in 1956 and made his major league debut as a catcher with the club in 1962. A mediocre hitter, he finished with a career batting average of .200. He was a sound defensive player and committed very few errors in his Major League career as a catcher, completing his career with a fielding percentage of .981. Uecker also played for the St. Louis Cardinals (and was a member of the 1964 World Champion club) and Philadelphia Phillies before returning to the Braves, who had by then moved to Atlanta. His six-year major league career concluded in 1967.

After retiring as a player, Uecker returned to Milwaukee. In 1971, he began calling play-by-play for the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts, a position he holds to this day. He also served as one of the first color commentators on network television broadcasts in the 1970s (for ABC's Monday Night Baseball) and 1990s (for NBC as he teamed with Bob Costas and Joe Morgan for telecasts). During that time, he was a commentator for League Championship Series and the World Series.

Uecker now works as the Milwaukee Brewers' play-by-play announcer. Games are broadcast on the Brewers Radio Network throughout Wisconsin. The flagship is WTMJ 620 Milwaukee.
Known for his humor, particularly about his undistinguished playing career, Uecker actually became much better known after he retired from playing. He made 64 guest appearances on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, and appeared in a number of humorous commercials, most notably for Miller Lite beer, as one of the "Miller Lite All-Stars".

Uecker published two books, an autobiography entitled Catcher in the Wry , and Catch 222 .

Uecker also pursued an acting career, playing the part of George Owens on the television sitcom Mr. Belvedere in the 1980s. He played a prominent role in Major League, Major League II, and Major League: Back to the Minors as Harry Doyle, the announcer for the team on which the movie is based, the Cleveland Indians. A phrase from this movie, "Juuuust a bit outside...", referring to a pitch that is several feet outside the strike zone, began appearing in some DirecTV ads in the spring of 2007.

Uecker's sports expertise extends beyond baseball. He hosted two syndicated television shows, Bob Uecker's Wacky World of Sports and Bob Uecker's War of the Stars. The former has since become known as The Lighter Side of Sports (albeit with a different host, Mike Golic) and remains one of the longest-running syndicated sports programs in American television history.

Uecker also appeared in a series of commercials for the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League in the mid-1990s, including one in which he re-designed the team's uniforms to feature a garish plaid reminiscent of the loud sports coats synonymous with Uecker in the 1970s and 1980s. In February 2006, the Admirals commemorated those commercials with a special event in which the players wore the plaid jerseys[1] during a game. The jerseys were then auctioned off to benefit charity
In 1987, Uecker appeared as a ringside announcer at WrestleMania III in Pontiac, Michigan, followed by a return in 1988 at WrestleMania IV as both a ringside announcer and backstage interviewer. One famous WrestleMania segment saw André the Giant choking Uecker.

In the fall of 2006, WWE contacted Uecker to appear at WrestleMania 23 on April 1, 2007 in Detroit, Michigan. It was reported in Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE wanted Uecker to be involved in a sketch of some sort with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

It was announced on March 22, 2010, that Uecker will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He will be inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame on March 27, 2010, by Dick Ebersol.

GORGEOUS GEORGE

George Raymond Wagner (March 24, 1915–December 26, 1963) was an American professional wrestler best known by his ring name Gorgeous George. In the United States, during the First Golden Age of Professional Wrestling in the 1940s-1950s, Gorgeous George gained mainstream popularity and became one of the biggest stars of this period, gaining media attention for his outrageous character, which was described as flamboyant and charismatic. He will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2010.

George Raymond Wagner was born March 24, 1915 in Butte, Nebraska. For a time, he and his parents lived on a farm near the village of Phoenix in Holt County and probably in Seward County before they moved to Waterloo, Iowa and later Sioux City. When George was age seven, his family moved to Houston, Texas, where he associated with kids from a tough neighborhood. As a child, he trained at the local YMCA and often staged matches against his friends. In 1929, Wagner dropped out of Milby High School at age 14, and worked odd jobs to help support his family. At this time, he competed at carnivals, where he could earn 35 cents for a win. By age 17, he was getting booked by the region’s top promoter, Morris Siegel, and in 1938, he won his first title by defeating Buck Lipscomb for Northwest Middleweight crown. Moreover, on May 19, 1939, he captured the Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight Championship.

At 5’9” and 215 pounds, Wagner was not particularly physically imposing by professional wrestling standards, nor was he an exceptionally gifted athlete. Nevertheless, he soon developed a reputation as a solid in-ring worker. In the late 1930s, he met Betty Hanson, whom he would eventually marry in an in-ring ceremony. When the wedding proved a good drawing card, the couple re-enacted it in arenas across the country (which thus enlightened Wagner to the potential entertainment value that was left untapped within the industry). Around this same time, Vanity magazine published a feature article about a pro wrestler named Lord Patrick Lansdowne, who entered the ring accompanied by two valets while wearing a velvet robe and doublet. Wagner was impressed with the bravado of such a character, but he believed that he could take it to a much greater extreme. What he needed was a new persona. As he was walking down the aisle at a new match he overheard a woman in the audience say to a friend: “Oh, he’s gorgeous.” He would be Gorgeous George. As a result, he debuted his new “glamour boy” image on a 1941 card in Eugene, Oregon; and he quickly antagonized the fans with his exaggerated effeminate behavior when the ring announcer introduced him as “Gorgeous George.” Such showmanship was unheard of for the time; and consequently, arena crowds grew in size as fans turned out to ridicule George (who relished the sudden attention).

Gorgeous George was soon recruited to Los Angeles by promoter Johnny Doyle. Known as the "Human Orchid," his persona was created in part by growing his hair long, dyeing it platinum blonde, and putting gold-plated bobby pins in it (which he deemed “Georgie Pins” while distributing them to the audience). Furthermore, he transformed his ring entrance into a bona-fide spectacle that would often take up more time than his actual matches. He was the first wrestler to really use entrance music, as he strolled nobly to the ring to the sounds of "Pomp and Circumstance," followed by his valet and a purple spotlight. Wearing an elegant robe sporting an array of sequins, Gorgeous George was always escorted down a personal red carpet by his ring valet “Jeffries,” who would carry a silver mirror while spreading rose petals at his feet. While George removed his robe, Jeffries would spray the ring with disinfectant (which reportedly consisted of Chanel No. 5 perfume), which George referred to as "Chanel #10" ("Why be half-safe?" he was famous for saying) before he would start wrestling. Moreover, George required that his valets spray the referee’s hands before the official was allowed to check him for any illegal objects, which thus prompted his now-famous outcry “Get your filthy hands off me!” Once the match finally began, he would cheat in every way he could. Gorgeous George was the industry’s first true cowardly villain, and he would cheat at every opportunity, which infuriated the crowd. His credo was "Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat!" This flamboyant image and his showman's ability to work a crowd were so successful in the early days of television that he became the most famous wrestler of his time, drawing furious heel heat wherever he appeared.

It was with the advent of television, however, that George’s character exploded into the biggest drawing card the industry had ever known. With the networks looking for cheap but effective programming to fill its time slots, pro wrestling’s glorified action became a genuine “hit” with the viewing public, as it was the first program of any kind to draw a real profit. Consequently, it was Gorgeous George who brought the sport into the nation’s living rooms, as his histrionics and melodramatic behavior made him a larger-than-life figure in American pop-culture. His first television appearance took place on November 11, 1947 (an event that was recently named among the top 100 televised acts of the 20th century by Entertainment Weekly) and he immediately became a national celebrity at the same level of Lucille Ball and Bob Hope (who personally donated hundreds of chic robes for George’s collection) while changing the course of the industry forever. No longer was pro wrestling simply about the in-ring action, but George had created a new sense of theatrics and character performance that had not previously existed. Moreover, in a very real sense, it was Gorgeous George who single-handedly established television as a viable entertainment medium that could potentially reach millions of homes across the country (in fact, it is said that George was probably responsible for selling as many TV sets as Milton Berle).

In addition to his grandiose theatrics, Gorgeous George was an accomplished wrestler as well. While many may have considered him a mere gimmick wrestler, he was actually a very competent freestyle wrestler, having started learning the sport in amateur wrestling as a teenager, and he could handle himself quite well if it came to a legitimate contest. The great Lou Thesz, who would take this AWA title away from Wagner, and who was one of the best "legit" wrestlers ever in professional wrestling, displayed some disdain for the gimmick wrestlers. Nevertheless, he admitted that Wagner "could wrestle pretty well," but added that, "he [Wagner] could never draw a fan until he became Gorgeous George."

On March 26, 1947, he defeated Enrique Torres to capture the Los Angeles Heavyweight Championship. Then on February 22, 1949, George was booked as the feature attraction at New York’s Madison Square Garden in what would be pro wrestling’s first return to the building in 12 years. By the 1950’s, Gorgeous George’s starpower was so huge that he was able to command 50% of the gate for his performances, which allowed him to earn over $100,000 a year, thus making him the highest paid athlete in the world. Moreover, on May 26, 1950, Gorgeous George defeated Don Eagle to claim the AWA (Boston) World Heavyweight Championship, which he held for several months. During this reign he was beaten by the National Wrestling Alliance World Champion Lou Thesz in a highly-publicized bout in Chicago. However, perhaps Gorgeous George’s most famous match was against his longtime rival Whipper Billy Watson on March 12, 1959, in which a beaten George had his treasured golden locks shaved bald before 20,000 delighted fans at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens and millions more on national television.

In one of his final matches, Gorgeous George later faced off against (and lost to) an up-and-coming Bruno Sammartino, though he would lose his precious hair again when he was defeated by the Destroyer in a hair vs. mask match at the Olympic Auditorium on November 7, 1962. This would ultimately be his last match, as advanced age and extended alcohol abuse had taken their toll on his body; and his doctors ordered him to quit wrestling.

On March 27 he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2010. His 96 year-old former wife, Betty Wagner will accept the honor on his behalf.

As his wrestling career wound down, Wagner invested $250,000 in a 195-acre (0.79 km2) turkey ranch built in Beaumont, California, and the wrestler used his showman skills to promote his prized poultry at his wrestling matches and sport shows, popular during his heyday. He raised turkeys and owned a cocktail lounge in Van Nuys, California, which he named "Gorgeous George's Ringside Restaurant".

In 1962, Wagner was diagnosed with a serious liver condition. On advice of his doctors, he retired. This, combined with failed finances (due to bad investments) worsened his health. He suffered a heart attack on December 24, 1963 and died two days later, at age 48.

A plaque at his gravesite reads "Love to our Daddy Gorgeous George".

TED DIBIASE "THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN"

Theodore Marvin "Ted" DiBiase, Sr. (born January 18, 1954) is a retired professional wrestler, manager, and color commentator. DiBiase achieved championship success in a number of wrestling promotions, holding thirty titles during his professional wrestling career. He is arguably best recalled to mainstream audiences for his time in the WWF, where he wrestled as "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. Among other accolades in the WWF, he was the first North American Heavyweight Champion, a three-time World Tag Team Champion (with Irwin R. Schyster) and the 1988 King of the Ring. DiBiase also created his own championship, the Million Dollar Championship. He was well-known for his cutting-edge heel promos, which were often concluded with his trademark evil laugh. He used his formidable wealth to try to purchase the WWF Championship from Andre the Giant in 1987, and subsequently appeared with the championship belt, but this period is not recognized by WWE as an official title reign. Nonetheless, DiBiase frequently performed in main event matches and has been cited as one of the finest in-ring technicians in history.

He will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 27, 2010.

DiBiase is the biological son of wrestler Helen Hild and a man who's identity is not comonly known and the adoptive son of wrestler "Iron" Mike DiBiase. His stepfather died of a heart attack in the ring when Ted was just 15. Seven-time NWA world champion Harley Race rushed to the ring and performed CPR but was unable to save Mike DiBiase's life. In response, his mother fell victim to depression and alcoholism, so Ted was moved to Willcox, Arizona to live with his grandparents. He graduated from Willcox High School to attend West Texas State University on a football scholarship. However, he later dropped out of college to begin a career in professional wrestling

Ted DiBiase was trained by Dory Funk, Jr. and Terry Funk. He made his professional wrestling debut in June 1975 in Mid-South Wrestling where he wrestled for four years.

DiBiase had a short stint with Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1979. He was awarded the short-lived North American Championship, becoming the title's first champion. On June 19, 1979, he lost the North American Championship to Pat Patterson, who unified the title with the fictional "South American Championship" to become the first ever Intercontinental Champion.

DiBiase also spent time in the Georgia area where he had an early face run frequently tagging with Tommy "Wildfire" Rich. The two then feuded, leading to a loser leaves town match which DiBiase won, but instead of Rich leaving the area, he donned a mask calling himself "Mister R." The feud culminated in a match between Mister R and DiBiase, Tommy Rich appeared from backstage and distracted DiBiase. Mister R then rolled up DiBiase to get the win and unmasked as Brad Armstrong. Both DiBiase and Rich left the territory shortly thereafter.

In the early to mid-1980s, DiBiase participated in angles in various territories with the likes of Dick Murdoch, Ric Flair, the Fabulous Freebirds, Jim Duggan, One Man Gang, and Junkyard Dog. He also held various championships and made frequent trips to All Japan Pro Wrestling until his eventual departure from Mid-South Wrestling (which by this point was now the UWF). Typically, his matches ended with the use of a "loaded" black glove, which he pulled from his tights to "knock out" his opponent when the referee was not looking.

While locked in talks with the National Wrestling Alliance in 1987 after the UWF was acquired by Jim Crockett, DiBiase received an offer from the WWF. DiBiase was eventually convinced by WWF to sign up despite the fact that he would not be told his gimmick until after he agreed, under the promise that it was something that would receive a serious push. WWF official Pat Patterson informed DiBiase that if owner Vince McMahon were to go out to wrestle, it would be the gimmick that he would give himself.

In the WWF, DiBiase was known as "The Million Dollar Man", a millionaire who wore a gold-studded, dollar-sign-covered suit and, in time, a custom-made, diamond-encrusted and self-awarded "Million Dollar Championship Belt". The Million Dollar Man character was based on the type of wrestler that Vince McMahon would want to be.[11] DiBiase had a bodyguard by the name of Virgil, that was also by his side during matches, and all of his vignettes. The idea for the name Virgil was based on then-NWA booker Dusty Rhodes, whose real name is Virgil Runnels. The name of DiBiase's finishing move, the Million Dollar Dream (in which someone is put to sleep), was also meant to be an insult to Dusty Rhodes, who was named the American Dream.[12]

Virgil was often seen performing humiliating tasks, such as rubbing DiBiase's feet. DiBiase claimed "Everybody has a price" demonstrating his "power" through a series of vignettes in which he did things such as bribe the manager of a local swimming pool to close for the day so he could have the pool to himself. Other skits featured DiBiase traveling in limousines, giving $100 tips to waiters, and using $100 bills in convenience stores for small purchases like chewing gum. In reality, DiBiase's road travel was deliberately booked for first-class airplane flights and five-star hotel accommodations, and he was given a stipend of petty cash from the WWF Offices so that he could throw money around in public (i.e. pick up tabs and overtip, buy drinks for entire bars, actually pay for small items with a $100 bill, etc.) in order to make the character seem more real. Other times, DiBiase invited fans (including a young Rob Van Dam to perform humiliating acts (such as kissing his feet) for money. During one skit, he invited a young boy onto a stage and told him if he bounced a ball 15 times in succession, DiBiase would pay him $500. After the 14th bounce, DiBiase kicked the ball away, sending the boy home without pay. He frequently stuffed a $100 bill into the mouth of a wrestler on whom he had used the Million Dollar Dream move.

His first big in-ring angle came in late 1987 on an episode of Superstars of Wrestling, where he announced his plan to buy the WWF Championship from Hulk Hogan. Hogan refused and said that DiBiase would have to defeat him in the ring for the belt. Hogan got the upper hand in a series of matches, and a frustrated DiBiase approached André the Giant to win the belt for him. On the February 5 edition of The Main Event (which aired live on NBC), André defeated Hogan under questionable circumstances for the WWF Championship. Referee Dave Hebner was detained backstage and replaced with a referee DiBiase paid to have plastic surgery (actually Dave's twin brother Earl). He counted the pin for André despite the fact that Hogan's shoulder was up at the count of one; André then announced he was surrendering the belt and handed it to DiBiase. The WWF refused to acknowledge DiBiase as the champion (since titles could not be handed to someone else) and declared the title vacant. André's world title win was always recognized though, and is still considered the shortest world title reign in WWF history. This angle was an amplification of an angle in the old Georgia Championship Wrestling, when Larry Zbyszko paid Killer Tim Brooks $25,000 for his NWA National Heavyweight Championship in 1983.

A tournament was announced to crown a new WWF Champion. At WrestleMania IV, DiBiase defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan in the first round and Don Muraco in the quarterfinal before receiving a bye in the semi-finals to advance to the finals of the tournament. DiBiase was defeated by "Macho Man" Randy Savage in the finals. After repeated interference by Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan got involved to even the odds. DiBiase continued to feud with Savage throughout the summer of 1988, culminating in a tag team match pitting DiBiase and André the Giant vs. Hogan and Savage at the inaugural SummerSlam (in a match billed as "Where The Mega Powers Meet The Mega Bucks"). Although pro-heel commentator Jesse "The Body" Ventura served as the guest referee, Hogan pinned DiBiase to win the match. DiBiase then defeated Brutus Beefcake, Ken Patera, Ron Bass, and Randy Savage to win the 1988 King of the Ring tournament, receiving his first WWF success.

Bobby Heenan sold Hercules' contract to Ted DiBiase for his services as his personal slave. DiBiase claimed that Hercules was his slave but started feuding with him after Hercules turned face. He eliminated Hercules from the main event at Survivor Series.

At the Royal Rumble in 1989, DiBiase purchased the #30 entrance spot from Akeem to become the final entrant in the match.[19] Big John Studd and DiBiase were the final two participants in the match. DiBiase offered Studd a bribe to eliminate himself, but Studd eliminated him to win the match. DiBiase continued to feud with Hercules; the two had a series of matches including a match that DiBiase won on the February 3 edition of The Main Event. He defeated The Blue Blazer on the March 11 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. After that match, he introduced the WWF Million Dollar Championship, his own championship belt which was not recognized by the WWF. He created this belt because he was unable to buy or win the WWF Championship from Hulk Hogan.

DiBiase fought Brutus Beefcake to a double-countout at WrestleMania V. DiBiase's next big feud was with Jake "The Snake" Roberts. A few weeks after WrestleMania, DiBiase attacked Roberts on WWF Superstars of Wrestling after Roberts defeated Virgil in a match. DiBiase put Roberts out of action for several months with a neck injury. While Roberts recuperated, DiBiase defeated Jimmy "The Superfly" Snuka at SummerSlam by countout. On the October 14 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, DiBiase faced Hulk Hogan in a match for the WWF Championship where DiBiase had the monster Zeus by his side. DiBiase lost the match when he accidentally hit Zeus and was pinned by Hogan with a small package. At Survivor Series, DiBiase captained a team dubbed the "Million Dollar Team" consisting of himself, the Powers of Pain (Warlord and Barbarian), and Zeus against Hogan's "Hulkamaniacs" consisting of Hogan, Jake Roberts, and Demolition (Ax and Smash). DiBiase eliminated Roberts after pinning him with help from Virgil before being pinned himself by Hogan.

In 1990, he broke the record at the time by lasting 45 minutes in the Royal Rumble match after entering as the #1 entrant (rather than #30 like the previous year). He eliminated eight opponents before he was eliminated by The Ultimate Warrior. He then continued his feud with Jake Roberts, who stole the Million Dollar Belt, leading to a match at WrestleMania VI where Roberts was counted out. Shortly after WrestleMania, he had a brief feud with Big Bossman which dated back to when DiBiase tried to bribe Bossman into retrieving the Million Dollar Belt. Bossman refused DiBiase's bribe and returned the Million Dollar Belt to Roberts. At SummerSlam, DiBiase bought the services of Sapphire, who was the manager of Dusty Rhodes at the time. This led to Rhodes and DiBiase feuding throughout the end of 1990 into the beginning of 1991. On the October 30 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, he attacked Dusty's son Dustin Rhodes during Dusty's match with Randy Savage. DiBiase and Dusty captained rival teams at Survivor Series, with DiBiase's mystery partner turning out to be the debuting Undertaker. DiBiase wound up eliminating both members of The Hart Foundation and was the sole survivor of the match. He, however, was eliminated in the main event by Hogan. At the Royal Rumble, Ted DiBiase and Virgil defeated Dusty and Dustin Rhodes in a tag team match. After the match, DiBiase ordered Virgil to put the Million Dollar Championship belt around his waist. Virgil instead hit DiBiase with the belt, turning face. At WrestleMania VII, DiBiase lost by countout to Virgil, who had help from 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. Sensational Sherri, who earlier in the night had turned on a losing Randy Savage, came down midway through the match to help DiBiase and became his full-time valet. On the April 27 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, DiBiase fought Bret Hart to a double countout.

DiBiase lost the Million Dollar Championship to Virgil at SummerSlam when Virgil smashed his head into an exposed turnbuckle and pinned him to get the victory. DiBiase participated in the King of the Ring tournament drawing with Ricky Steamboat in the first round. DiBiase regained the Million Dollar Championship from Virgil with help from Repo Man on the November 11 edition of Prime Time Wrestling which was dubbed "Survivor Series Showdown". At Survivor Series, he was one of the contestants eliminated from his match. At This Tuesday in Texas, DiBiase and Repo Man defeated Virgil and Tito Santana.

Ted DiBiase officially formed the tag team, Money Incorporated, with Irwin R. Schyster (IRS). The duo, mostly managed by Jimmy Hart, won the WWF Tag Team Championship three times between February 1992 and June 1993. Their first reign came on February 7, 1992 when they defeated The Legion of Doom for the titles. Money Incorporated then feuded with The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon). They defended the title against the Natural Disasters at WrestleMania VIII and lost the match by countout, thus retaining the title. On July 20, they lost the title to the Natural Disasters.

After losing a match to the Legion of Doom at SummerSlam, DiBiase and IRS regained the belts on the October 13 edition of Wrestling Challenge from the Natural Disasters. This title change led to a feud with The Nasty Boys, who were originally scheduled for the title shot. On the November 8 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, they defended their titles against the Ultimate Maniacs (Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage). DiBiase and IRS lost the match by countout and thus retained the titles once more.

Ted DiBiase participated in the Royal Rumble match, entering at #4 before eventually being eliminated by The Undertaker. Shortly after, DiBiase and IRS became involved in a major angle with the returning Brutus Beefcake. DiBiase faced Beefcake on one of the first episodes of Monday Night Raw. DiBiase and IRS attacked Beefcake after the match and slammed his face (which had been surgically repaired following a windsailing accident) with a briefcase. Money Inc. also attacked their manager Jimmy Hart, who was disgusted by their actions. Beefcake's best friend Hulk Hogan came to Beefcake's defense and challenged Money Inc. to a tag team title match at WrestleMania IX. DiBiase and IRS retained their titles by disqualification after Hogan used Beefcake's protective face mask as a weapon.

Money Inc. dominated the tag team division of the WWF. They feuded with the Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott) and had a series of title exchanges. DiBiase and IRS were defeated by the Steiners for the WWF Tag Team Championship on the June 14 edition of Monday Night Raw. They would regain the titles on June 16 at a live event but lost them back to the Steiners three days later on June 19 at another live event. DiBiase last wrestled for the WWF in August, bowing out following an angle which saw Razor Ramon turn face and 1-2-3 Kid debut. The Kid had scored an upset pinfall against a cocky Ramon, causing DiBiase to mock Ramon and tell him he would show him how it was done. He then went on to also lose to the Kid, giving Razor a newfound respect for the Kid thus turning Razor face. This included a match at SummerSlam between DiBiase and Ramon which DiBiase lost. After a few months in Japan, he quietly announced his retirement due to accumulated injuries and returned to the USA.

DiBiase returned to the WWF at the Royal Rumble as a guest commentator. DiBiase then began working as a commentator and manager for the WWF. Later in 1994, DiBiase purchased the contracts of many wrestlers for his Million Dollar Corporation stable in the WWF, which over time included I.R.S., Bam Bam Bigelow, Nikolai Volkoff, Kama, King Kong Bundy, Sycho Sid, 1-2-3 Kid, and in a swerve, Tatanka. DiBiase also renewed his connection with the Undertaker after the latter's six-month hiatus after the January Royal Rumble. Saying that he had originally brought the Undertaker to the WWF, and he was going to bring him back, DiBiase debuted a new Undertaker under his control. This Undertaker however proved to be an impostor played by Brian Lee, and was subsequently defeated by the real Undertaker at SummerSlam.

DiBiase also had a place in the main event of WrestleMania XI as the manager of Bam Bam Bigelow in his match versus Lawrence Taylor. Surrounding the ring were members of DiBiase's corporation to offset Taylor's entourage of NFL All-Pros on the opposite side. After Taylor defeated Bigelow, DiBiase publicly referred to Bigelow as an embarrassment. This culminated in Bigelow quitting The Corporation after DiBiase fired him following a loss to Diesel in a WWF Championship match. Bigelow aligned himself with Diesel in a feud versus members of DiBiase's corporation.

As a manager, DiBiase also later introduced "The Ringmaster", who eventually became Stone Cold Steve Austin, to the WWF in December 1995. Austin became the Million Dollar Champion and began wearing DiBiase's gold belt that was introduced in 1989. DiBiase's last appearance with the company was at In Your House: Beware of Dog in 1996, where he was kayfabe forced to leave the WWF after Steve Austin lost to Savio Vega. In reality, he left for rival promotion World Championship Wrestling.

In WCW, DiBiase became the fourth member of the nWo (along with Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and former enemy Hollywood Hogan) on August 26, 1996, one month after their formation in July 1996. He claimed to be financing the group (thus playing on his "Million Dollar Man" gimmick that WCW could not legally use outright). He was referred to, instead, as "Trillionaire Ted" (a play on the "Billionaire Ted" nickname of Ted Turner). Less than a year later, on the August 4, 1997, episode of Nitro, he left the nWo and made a face turn, managing The Steiner Brothers against the nWo until Scott turned heel and joined the group. DiBiase also managed one-time WWF rival Ray Traylor for a while as an ally to the Steiners but eventually stopped managing altogether.

In April 2005, DiBiase was hired as a creative consultant and road agent for the SmackDown! brand of World Wrestling Entertainment. On October 3, 2005, at WWE Homecoming, DiBiase appeared with other WWE legends in a ceremony. He eventually led the attack on Rob Conway, who had come down to the ring to insult the legends.

DiBiase at a radio program on July 15, 2006 at the International Wrestling Institute and Museum.DiBiase inducted his former manager Sensational Sherri into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 1, 2006 and made an appearance at WrestleMania 22, offering Eugene $1000 to dribble a basketball 100 times backstage and kicked the ball away at the last second. DiBiase also appeared on Raw on April 17 behind a newspaper doing his famous evil laugh as the camera went off air. DiBiase made an appearance at an IPW show in Newton, Iowa on July 14, 2006, where he watched his sons' tag team match. The following day, he accepted the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame induction for his father, Mike, at the International Wrestling Institute and Museum. He also appeared at the Raw Family Reunion on October 9, 2006 aiding Ric Flair in his match with the Spirit Squad. On October 26, 2006, Ted DiBiase was released from his WWE contract.

DiBiase made his first in ring appearance in over five years at the Raw 15th Anniversary Special on December 10, 2007, by winning a 15-man battle royal, in which he was not even an active participant. Irwin R. Schyster, DiBiase's former tag team partner of Money Incorporated, had won the battle royal. DiBiase came down to ringside and offered Schyster a bribe to eliminate himself. Schyster accepted and hopped over the top rope, making DiBiase the victor. DiBiase then declared that even after fifteen years, everyone still had a price for the "Million Dollar Man."

On the May 19, 2008 edition of Raw, he was seen alongside Mr. McMahon about to "discuss business", in William Regal's office. On the following Raw, DiBiase introduced his son Ted DiBiase, Jr. to WWE as its newest member.

DiBiase is now a Christian minister who runs combined Christian/wrestling events under the promotion, Power Wrestling Alliance. He frequently works with Nikita Koloff, another born-again Christian at these events. In 1999, he founded Heart of David Ministries. Ted is also the author of Every Man Has His Price, a part- autobiography and part-Christian testimony.

On the June 29 episode of Raw, Ted DiBiase, Jr announced in a segment with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton that DiBiase would appear on Raw the following week as the special guest host, and DiBiase appeared as scheduled on July 6. On the show, DiBiase booked his son to face Randy Orton. After DiBiase Jr. lost the match, he accused his father of setting him up and trying to steal his time, even slapping his father across the face. DiBiase would later come out at the end of the show and sanctioned a triple threat match for Randy Orton's WWE Championship at Night of Champions including John Cena and Triple H in his final act as the guest host. He is also playable character in WWE Legends of Wrestlemania and an unlockable superstar in WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010. DiBiase was announced as the first inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010 on February 8, 2010 during an episode of Raw.

MAD DOG VACHON

Maurice Vachon (born September 14, 1929) is a retired Québécois professional wrestler, best known by his ring name "Mad Dog" Vachon. He is the brother of wrestlers Paul and Vivian Vachon, and the uncle of wrestler Luna Vachon. He was among the AWA's all-time great heels with a career spanning four decades, while also serving as the leader of one of the sport’s most accomplished families. On March 1, 2010 it was anounced Vachon would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

Born on September 14, 1929, Maurice Vachon was one of 13 children of Montreal policeman Ferdinand Vachon, and they grew up in the district of Ville-Émard, a working-class borough southwest of Montreal. As a child, he regularly attended wrestling shows at the nearby Montreal Forum, where he grew up idolizing local ring legend Yvon Robert; and at just 12 years old, he had already begun grappling at the area’s YMCA. He entered a wrestling course advertised at the back of a comic book, and he began training under Chief Jim Crowley. He trained hard and even worked in the docks and on the canal to build up his muscle. By age 14, Vachon eventually established himself among Canada’s premier amateur grapplers.

At just 18 years old, he competed in the 1948 Olympic Games in London, where he pinned the Indian champion in 58 seconds and ultimately finished in seventh place at 174 pounds. Moreover, it was at the 1948 Olympics where Vachon first encountered an American Greco-Roman competitor named Verne Gagne. He rebounded to win the gold medal at the 1950 British Empire Games in New Zealand, and he then spent several years working as a bouncer at a Montreal nightclub before he was encouraged to join the pro wrestling circuit in 1954.

Vachon initially debuted as a junior heavyweight for Ontario booker Larry Kasaboski; and during his first year as a pro, he won a tournament in Sudbury to claim the North American Junior Heavyweight Title. However, Vachon soon encountered a roadblock when powerful Montreal promoter Eddie Quinn was hesitant to use him for fear that Vachon would use his legitimate wrestling talents to dethrone Yvon Robert, who was still his top drawing card. Consequently, Vachon then took to the road; and in April 1955, he teamed with Pierre LaSalle to capture the NWA Texas Tag Team Titles.

Despite his exceptional grappling ability, Maurice Vachon nonetheless struggled to distinguish himself from the myriad of image-less grapplers during his early years. As a result, he soon took radical measures to differentiate his persona, bulking up to a more plausible 225 pounds while also shaving his head bald and growing a long goatee. In addition, Vachon would frequently buy local TV time prior to a weekend event, which he then used to boldly proclaim his supremacy while also deprecating his opponent. Such acts of bravado were considered revolutionary at the time, though it was successful in that it attracted attention to Vachon’s new character as well as drawing additional fans to the arena. As a result, Vachon subsequently established himself as a major heel while also portraying a wrestling beast inside the ring who would freely stomp, bite, and pound his opponent into submission. Therefore, Portland promoter Don Owen accordingly bestowed Vachon with the nickname of “Mad Dog,” and the fact that he was so much smaller than the majority of his opponents only added to his mystique. Before long, “Mad Dog” Vachon consequently developed a reputation as perhaps the most feared rulebreaker in all of wrestling. Furthermore, Maurice’s younger brother Paul soon debuted himself, as he was ultimately given the nickname of “the Butcher;” and on February 17, 1959 in Edmonton, the Vachon brothers teamed to defeat Chico Garcia & Chet Wallick for the NWA Canadian Tag Team Titles.

Maurice Vachon's tendency to hurt his opponents with foreign objects, filed fingernails, and his signature finishing move, "The Piledriver", made him notorious in the business and caused him to be banned in three U.S. states. But it also made his popularity soar among the fans, including his future wife Kathie Joe, whom he met after spitting a shoe string he had used for choking his opponent at her, as she was sitting in the audience.

In the early 1960s, Mad Dog Vachon was then recruited to the Minnesota-based American Wrestling Association by his old Olympics acquaintance Verne Gagne, who had replaced Tony Stecher as the region’s chief promoter in 1960 and who also served as its centerpiece champion. Upon debuting, Vachon immediately established himself among the promotion’s top box-office draws as fans despised his vicious, mauling tactics; and he thus made the perfect opponent for the All-American Gagne, as the two rivals soon commenced an ongoing battle that would persist on for nearly 20 years. On May 2, 1964, Vachon stunned audiences when he upset Gagne for the AWA World Heavyweight Title, and although Gagne regained the belt just two weeks later, Mad Dog again recaptured the title when he defeated Gagne on October 20 in Minneapolis. Between 1964-67, Mad Dog Vachon would ultimately hold five reigns as the AWA World Champion while taking on all comers within the promotion’s massive territory, including Gagne, Mighty Igor Vodic, as well as the legendary powerhouse duo of Crusher Lisowski & Dick the Bruiser.

Mad Dog Vachon’s final AWA title reign came to an end on February 26, 1967 at the hands of his arch-nemesis Verne Gagne; and he then briefly left the promotion in order to return to his native Montreal territory, where he captured two reigns as the IWA International Heavyweight Champion while feuding against Johnny Rougeau and Hans Schmidt. Moreover, Vachon would also leverage his close friendship with Montreal Canadiens legend Jean Beliveau to convince the authorities of the Montreal Forum to grant him a promoting license (despite the protests of Johnny Rougeau and Bob Langevin, who had taken over the region from Eddie Quinn during the mid-1960s). Nevertheless, Vachon would soon return to the AWA, where he resumed his fierce battles with the The Crusher & Dick the Bruiser, regarded by some as the greatest tag team of all-time, while forming a highly successful and dangerous tandem with his brother Paul “Butcher” Vachon. On August 30, 1969, the Vachon’s defeated Crusher & Bruiser for the AWA World Tag Team Titles; and the following year, the two battled again in a famous steel cage match at Chicago’s Comiskey Park (where the Vachon’s again emerged victorious), as their violent fights ultimately served as the precursor for a new brand of sadistic and vicious brawling that would spawn future mayhem stars like Abdullah the Butcher, Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, and others.

Over the next decade, the Vachon family would become one of the AWA’s most dominant stables, with sister Vivian (and later on, niece Luna) dominating the women’s scene, while Maurice and Paul ruled the men’s division. In the early 1970s he even appeared alongside his sister Vivian Vachon in the motion picture Wrestling Queen. But after two decades as one the sport’s most evil characters, the fans suddenly began to rally behind the “Mad Dog” in the late 1970s when he formed an unexpected and odd friendship with ex-archrival Verne Gagne. The unlikely partners made for an impressive tag team, and on June 6, 1979, they beat Pat Patterson & Ray Stevens to capture the AWA tag titles, which they held for over a year before losing to Jesse Ventura & Adrian Adonis. But when the AWA began looking to younger stars like Rick Martel and Curt Hennig, Vachon jumped to the World Wrestling Federation in 1984. While his age and lack of size did not make for a good mix in the emerging "Hulkamania" era, the now-face (fan favorite) Vachon put people in the seats and was usually included at WWF house shows (wrestling cards) in the Midwest and Quebec.

In 1985, he appeared as cornerman for AWA World Champion Rick Martel when Martel was challenged by Boris Zhukov in several title bouts in Canada, getting involved in one match on September 19, 1985 in Winnipeg and fighting off Zhukov and his manager, Chris Markoff, after Markoff interfered and helped Zhukov attack Martel, while in a later rematch between Martel and Zhukov held in a steel cage on November 14, 1985 in the same city, Markoff was neutralized by being handcuffed to Vachon. He received a retirement show in his native Montreal in September 1986, and he left the sport as one its most beloved fan favorites after spending almost his entire career as a sadistic villain. His innovative portrayal of a snarling, bloodthirsty monster would inspire a myriad of future “psychotic” wrestlers, including “Maniac” Mark Lewin, Bruiser Brody, George Steele, and “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer.

Upon retiring, Vachon settled in Carter Lake, Iowa, which is adjacent to his wife's home town of Omaha, Nebraska, but tragedy then struck in 1987 when Vachon was struck by a hit-and-run driver, resulting in the forced amputation of his leg. The Vachons moved to Omaha shortly thereafter. He later turned to acting in beer commercials and was a restaurant critic for a Quebec City television station. He said, "I've eaten in almost every gas station restaurant and roadside diner in North America, I'm one Mad Dog who knows his chow."

He appeared at the WWF pay-per-view In Your House 7, that was held in Omaha. He was sitting in the front row near ringside, when wrestler Diesel ripped Vachon's artificial leg off and it was later used as a weapon in his match by Shawn Michaels. In addition, he and longtime rival The Crusher made an appearance at the 1998 Over the Edge pay-per-view, in a segment where the two legends were mocked by Jerry "The King" Lawler, including Lawler trying to steal the artificial leg. Crusher and Mad Dog then punched Lawler out of the ring and shook hands.

As of 2006, Mad Dog Vachon continues to make appearances at legends reunions and independent promotions.

He had knee surgery in 2008, which, according to his brother, Paul, was successful.

WENDI RICHTER

Wendi Richter (born September 6, 1961) is a former professional wrestler. She began her professional wrestling career in companies such as the National Wrestling Alliance, where she teamed with Joyce Grable, with whom she held the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship twice. In the 1980s, she joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). She held the WWF Women's Championship twice and feuded with The Fabulous Moolah over the title. She was also involved in a storyline with singer Cyndi Lauper called the "Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection." Richter, however, left the WWF after losing the championship in controversial fashion. She then worked in the World Wrestling Council and American Wrestling Association, where she held both companies' women's titles.

Wendi Richter was trained at The Fabulous Moolah's Lillian Ellison School of Professional Wrestling and made her professional debut in 1979. In early 1982, Richter tag teamed with Moolah against Velvet McIntyre and Princess Victoria for three matches for the World Wide Wrestling Federation.Richter was later paired with Joyce Grable, with whom she also trained for six weeks, to form a tag team called The Texas Cowgirls. In late 1982, they wrestled in a series of matches in Canada's Stampede Wrestling against Velvet McIntyre and Judy Martin. She continued her feud with McIntyre in Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling Association, where she was defeated twice. Richter and Grable continued their rivalry with McIntyre and Martin into April 1983 in Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association. In May, the team reformed in Stampede Wrestling in matches against McIntyre and Penny Mitchell. The team also won the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship twice.

Richter returned stateside signing with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in late 1983. In April 1984, Richter teamed with Peggy Lee for a series of matches with old rivals Velvet McIntyre and Princess Victoria. WWF owner Vince McMahon brought in Cyndi Lauper for a feud with Lou Albano (who had appeared in one of Lauper's videos).[7] As a result, in a match, Albano seconded WWF Women's Champion Fabulous Moolah, while Lauper was in the corner of Wendi Richter. Richter defeated Moolah at MTV's The Brawl to End it All for the Women's Championship on July 23, 1984. With the win, she ended what was billed as the longest championship reign in professional wrestling history (Moolah's 28-year reign as recognized by the WWF; in reality she had lost the title several times between 1956 and 1978, and Richter's win had in reality only ended a nearly seven-year reign by Moolah as champion). The broadcast of the women's match earned MTV its largest ratings in history up to that point. This match was also the beginning of the "Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection", an era that combined both music and professional wrestling. Richter faced Moolah's protégé, Leilani Kai, who defeated Richter for the title, in early 1985 at The War to Settle the Score. She regained the title at the first WrestleMania one month later. While wrestling for the WWF, Richter referred to herself as "150 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal". Richter was also animated for a CBS Saturday morning cartoon, Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling. In addition, she appeared in Lauper's music video for "She Bop".

In 1985, after losing and then regaining the title from rival Leilani Kai at the inaugural WrestleMania, Richter was scheduled to defend her women's title at Madison Square Garden on November 25 of that same year against a mysterious masked opponent known only as The Spider Lady. Moments into the match, The Spider Lady broke from the pre-scripted events and pinned Richter's shoulders to the mat. The referee—who was in on the plan—delivered a swift three count, despite Richter kicking out after a count of one. Richter ignored the bell and continued to attack the Spider, unmasking the new champion to reveal that it was The Fabulous Moolah in disguise.

It was reported that the plan to rid Richter of the title was concocted by WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, who brought in Moolah after Richter refused to sign a new contract with the WWF. Richter, however, claims she was still under her original five year contract, but that she regularly had disagreements with McMahon about her compensation. She also claims that when she arrived at the arena that day, she was surprised to find Moolah backstage, as she never showed up to events for which she was not scheduled to wrestle. After the match, an infuriated Richter left the arena in her wrestling gear, took a cab to the airport, and booked herself on a flight out of New York. Afterward, she never spoke to either McMahon or Moolah again

Upon leaving the WWF, Richter wrestled in Puerto Rico, Japan, and throughout the United States in independent promotions. In Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council, she traded the WWC Women's Championship with Monster Ripper, holding the belt twice: once in May 1987 and once in July 1987.

Richter surfaced in the American Wrestling Association (AWA) in 1987 to challenge champion Madusa Miceli for the AWA Women's Championship, winning the title in December 1987. On December 13, 1988, she participated in a mixed tag team match at SuperClash III with partners The Top Guns (Ricky Rice and Derrick Dukes) against Badd Company (Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka) and Madusa Miceli. Richter's team won the match when she pinned Miceli.

On January 29, 2005, Richter appeared at WrestleReunion in an eight-woman tag team match (teaming with Bambi, Malia Hosaka, and Jenny Taylor wrestling against Sherri Martel, Peggy Lee Leather, Krissy Vaine, and Amber O'Neal. In August of that same year, Richter appeared at the second WrestleReunion event, WrestleReunion 2, in a six-person tag team match.

In February 2009, WWE contacted Richter to participate in a Divas battle royal to determine "Miss WrestleMania" at WrestleMania XXV, but Richter declined the offer. The following year, WWE announced that Richter would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010 by Roddy Piper.

Wendi Richter grew up in Dallas, Texas, and before she entered the world of professional wrestling, she worked on her family's ranch and took part in rodeo competitions. She attended Bossier High School, where she participated in volleyball, track, and cross-country.She later majored in computer programming at Dallas's Draughon's Business College. In the 1980s, she moved to Crystal River, Florida.

After leaving the business, Richter worked as a real estate agent. She also returned to school for thirteen years, earning a degree in physical therapy and a Master's degree in occupational therapy. Aside from therapy, Richter competes in dog shows, including the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.She was once married to Hugo Savinovich, an announcer for the WWF.

ANTONIO INOKI

Antonio Inoki (born Kanji Inoki (猪木寛至, on February 20, 1943) is a Japanese professional wrestling promoter and retired professional wrestler and mixed martial artist who now resides between New York City and Tokyo. He was also the founder and former owner of New Japan Pro Wrestling before selling his controlling share in the promotion to Yukes

Inoki was born in an affluent family in Yokohama in 1943. He was the sixth son and the second youngest of the seven boys and four girls. His father, Sajiro Inoki, a businessman and politician, died when Kanji was five years old. Inoki entered the Higashidai Grade School. Inoki was taught karate by an older brother while in 6th grade. By the time he was in 7th grade at Terao Junior High School, he was 180 centimeters tall and joined the basketball team. He later quit and joined a track and field club as a shot putter. He eventually won the championship at the Yokohama Junior High School track and field competition.

The family fell on hard times in the post-war years, and in 1957, the 14 year-old Inoki immigrated to Brazil with his grandfather, mother and brothers. His grandfather died during the journey to Brazil. Inoki won regional championships in Brazil in the shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw, and finally the All Brazilian championships in the shot put and discus.

Inoki met Rikidōzan at the age of 17. He went back to Japan for the Japanese Wrestling Association (JWA) as Rikidōzan's disciple. One of his dojo classmates was Giant Baba. After Rikidozan's death, Inoki worked under the taller Baba's shadow until he joined the original Tokyo Pro Wrestling in 1966.

After wrestling a long excursion in the United States, Inoki found a new home in Tokyo Pro Wrestling. While there, Inoki became their biggest star. Unfortunately, the company folded in 1967, due to turmoil behind the scenes.

Returning to JWA in late 1967, he was made Baba's partner and the two dominated the tag team ranks as the "B-I Cannon", winning the NWA International tag team belts four times. Wrestling legend Bruno Sammartino tells a story about Inoki trying to "shoot" on him during a tag match in Osaka to build his reputation against the then-world champ. Bruno powered out of the hold, pounded Inoki unmercilessly and threw him out of the ring. Inoki refused to re-enter the ring with Sammartino and tagged in Baba to finish the match.[citation needed]

[edit] New Japan Pro Wrestling (1972–1994)
Fired from JWA in late 1971 for planning a takeover of the promotion, Inoki founded New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1972. His first match as a New Japan wrestler was against Karl Gotch. In 1995 the Japanese and Korean governments came together to hold a two-day wrestling festival for peace in Pyongyang, North Korea. The event drew 150,000 and 190,000 fans respectively to May Day Stadium. The main event saw the only match between Inoki and Ric Flair with Inoki coming out on top. Days before this event, Inoki and the Korean press went to the grave and birthplace of Rikidōzan and paid tribute to him.

On November 30, 1979, Inoki defeated WWF Champion Bob Backlund in Tokushima, Japan to win the title. Backlund then won a re-match on December 6. However, WWF president Hisashi Shinma declared the re-match a no-contest due to interference from Tiger Jeet Singh, and Inoki remained Champion. Inoki refused the title on the same day and it was declared vacant. Backlund later defeated Bobby Duncum in a Texas Death match to regain the title on December 12. As Inoki refused the title his reign is not included nor is it recognized by WWE in its official history and Backlund is recognized as having one reign from 1978–1983.

Inoki's retirement from professional wrestling matches came with the staging of the "Final Countdown" series between 1994 and 1998. This was a special series in which Inoki re-lived some of his mixed martial arts matches under professional wrestling rules, as well as rematches of some of his most well known wrestling matches. Inoki faced Don Frye in the final match of his professional wrestling career.

Culminating in 2006, Inoki's influence within New Japan declined. An example of this has been the purchase of his image by YUKE's, who in 2005 purchased his controlling 51.5% stock in New Japan. As a result New Japan is now able to control Inoki's appearances and the use of his image. Inoki began a new promotion in 2007 called Inoki Genome Federation that competes with New Japan.

On February 1, 2010, World Wrestling Entertainment announced on its Japanese website that Inoki would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2010. On February 9, WWE held a press conference in Tokyo, Japan to officially announce the induction, making him the first ever Japanese person to receive the induction. Inoki was presented with a Hall of Fame certificate by WWE's Ed Wells and stated that he will be attending the WrestleMania XXVI weekend festivities, which will see him officially inducted.

Inoki was amongst the group of professional wrestlers who were tutored in the art of hooking and shooting by the professional wrestler Karl Gotch. Inoki then went on to stage a series of mixed martial arts matches against champions from numerous other disciplines of martial arts. Inoki named his method of fighting "strong style". This method of wrestling (which was taught to Inoki by Gotch) borrowed heavily from professional wrestling's original catch wrestling roots. It is one of the most important influences of modern shoot wrestling.

Inoki was a pioneer of mixed martial arts and faced many opponents from all dominant disciplines of combat from various parts of the world, such as Akram Pahalwan in Pakistan, Willie Williams of Kyokushin Karate, Olympic judo gold medalist Willem Ruska and WBA and WBC World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali.

Though many of Inoki's matches were dismissed by the skeptics as worked, there has been little or no proof at all to suggest the validity of the worked theory and Inoki's mixed martial arts opponents have never stated that the matches were "fake". Most of the skepticism arose from the fact that Inoki was a professional wrestler, which automatically led to an assumption that the matches might have been worked.

The worked theory also arises from Inoki's June 26, 1976 match in Tokyo with Muhammad Ali. Inoki initially promised Ali a worked match to get him to fight in Japan, but when the deal materialized Ali's camp feared that Inoki would turn the fight into a shoot, which many believe was Inoki's intention. Ali visited a professional wrestling match involving Inoki and witnessed Inoki's grappling ability. The rules of the match were announced several months in advance. Two days before the match, however, several new rules were added which severely limited the moves that each man could perform. A rule change that had a major outcome on this match was that Inoki could only throw a kick if one of his knees was on the ground. In the match, Ali landed a total of six punches to Inoki, and Inoki kept to his back in a defensive position almost the full duration of the match of 15 rounds, hitting Ali with a low kick repeatedly.The bout ended in a draw, 3-3. Ali left without a press conference and suffered damage to his legs as a result of Inoki's repeated leg kicks.

Inoki organizes Mixed Martial Arts events like "NJPW Ultimate Crush" and "Jungle Fight", showing traditional professional wrestling matches and mixed martial arts matches on the same card.[citation needed] Some of the major attractions of these events involve the best of NJPW against world renowned fighters in mixed martial arts matches. Inoki vs Renzo Gracie was a professional wrestling match that took place at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2000 against mixed martial artist Renzo Gracie. Inoki was the ambassador for the International Fight League's Tokyo entry before that promotion's demise. Inoki is one of the founders of Kansuiryu Karate.

Inoki was married to actress Mitsuko Baisho from 1971 to 1987. Initially the wedding was going to be paid by JWA, but JWA fired him in late 1971, so Inoki had to form NJPW to keep feeding his new family. Inoki and Baisho have a daughter, Hiroko (who uses her father's surname). Hiroko is married to Simon Inoki, who in 2005 was named President of NJPW. They are divorced now.

Inoki appeared in the movie, The Bad News Bears Go To Japan, as a wrestler. He had the starring role in the film Acacia directed by Jinsei Tsuji.

During one visit to a school in the 1980s, Inoki was punched twice by a student. Inoki slapped the student across the face. The student, who later turned out to be an Inoki fan, then thanked Inoki for the slap. The incident became very famous as the then live clip of the binta (slap in the face) was shown many times on Japanese television. Now various celebrities and even common people in Japan ask Inoki to slap them to install courage or even as some sort of strange blessing. The slap's name is the "Fighting Spirit (or Tōkon) Slap."

In 1989, Inoki established the Sports and Peace Party He was elected to the House of Councillors of the National Diet of Japan. He continued to wrestle and promote while serving as a legislator. He served in the Diet until 1995, when he failed to win re-election, after accusations of Yakuza involvement and bribery lead to a decline in his popularity. Inoki met with Saddam Hussein for the release of prisoners from Iraq before the Gulf War. As is the traditional gift for a visiting head-of-state, Saddam gave Inoki a pair of golden swords

i just got finished watching smallville season 3
ok
i must admit its my least favorate season so far
but it seems the story starts to unfold
we see lex luthors trur colours a little bit
plus we learn more about clarks past
but the stories for me were pretty boring
i found myself losing interest
however
the season finale had me postively gripped
lana leaves smallville for paris
clark goes to his real father jor-el
we also see lionel luthor in jail
lex apears to have been poisoned
and chloe and her father blow up in their new home
i have a feeling season 4 will be good

PART ONE

its starts with a light in a medievil sky
a bunch of people are mad that they have not great food and their neighbours have plenty

the next scene we see the doctor being led to a makeshift sleeping quarters by the brigadeer
he tells the doctor that scientists and equipment have vanished
next we wear they have vanished to
the medievil times
with linx
he has them working
one of irongrod men wants to come in
linx refuses
then we see irongrod trying out a gun that linx made for him
back in in the present day the doctor meets an man call professer rubeish
he introdudes her to someone called lavinia smith
but it really turns out to be her journalist niece sarah jane smith
next in medievil times we see a lord and lady (dot cotton) talking about the evils of irongrod
then we see irongrod with a man that his men found in the wood
they found a letter on him
a message on him
then we see sir edward and dot cotton wondering why their messenger hasnt returned
the we see irongrod and linx
irongrod wants to know why linx doesnt show his face
irongrod gets linx to interregate sir edwards messenger
then we see the doctor and the proffeser
the professer dont not trust sarah jane
sarah jane and the doctor talk
they dont really hit it off
then back in time
linx sets to work interregating the messanger
linx unlocks his mind
so irongrod can get the truth
then we see a sleeping doctor woken by a paricle detector
then he and sarah jane discover professer rubish has disapeared
he inform the brigadeer
the doctor tell him he saw a man in armour
he says there a matter transferer sendin people back in time
the doctor gets into the tardis and vanishes
he arrives in the medievil times
unbeknowing to the doctor sarah jane was in the tardis too
a man called hal(boba fett)
attempts to attack irongrod with a bow and arrow
but is interupted by sarah jane irongrods men chase into the forrest
they also capture sarah jane
the doctor spots her
he follows
he sees linx
the episode ends

PART TWO

sarah jane is taken to irongron
she cant believe shes back in time
hal is also brought to him
and they vow to deal with him
linx arrives
he has a weapon to show irongron
linx unlocks sarah janes mind
she tells them where shes from and tells them about the doctor
linx presents irongron with a robot
he is impressed
linx point out that sarah jane has escaped
the doctor finds her but she runs away
then we see hal about to be beheaded
but irongron stop it
and makes hal fight the robot
it looks like hal is about to be defeated
but the doctor shoots the control from irongrons hand
hal meets up with sarah jane and they run
linx and his army of scientists are at wor
irongron storms in and get linx to deactivate the robot
meanwhile the doctor find his way in
and finds the disapeared proffessers
including professer rubeish
the only one who is not hypnotised
linx finds them
he zaps the doctor
hal takes sarah jane to sir edward and tells them all whats going on in irongrons castle
she seems to think that the doctor is involved
the plan to raid irongrons castle
linx and the doctor talk and linx asks the doctor where is his home planet
he tells him (for the first time i believe) gallifrey
the doctor offer to help linx rebuild his ship if he lets the hostages go
he refuses
he places a control on the doctor
he has to obey linxes orders
he tries to over ride the controls
hal and sarah jane look for the doctors
linx give irongron some guns
the doctor gets rubeish to free him
the doctor goes to find sarah jane
he comes face to face with irongron and blood axe
but ith a bit of venusian akido he escapes
but falls and irongron vows to kill him
the episode ends

PART THREE

irongrom raises his axe to the doctor
but hal shoots it out his hand
he escapes with hal and sarah jane
he blocks the path with fire
the doctor is captured by sarah jane and sir edwards men
linx finds doctor gone
irongron want revenge on the doctor
linx want to find him too
the doctor and sarah jane arrive in sir edwards castle
the doctor explains about linx and that he is not helping irongron
sir edward offers to spare the doctors life if he helps against irongron
he agrees
irongron prepares for battle
linx goes along with them
the doctor is hatching a scheme with dummies
thne doctor explains to him about the tardis and that hes not from earth
irongron and his men surround the castle
see the dummies and think they are out numbers
irongron wants to retreat
but linx wont let him
irongron shoots at the castle
linx rumbles the decoy dummies
irongron advances on the castle
the doctor sets of smoke bombs
sir edwards men fire arrows
irongron returns to his castle
he is angry with his men
they all are confused with the doctors magic
linx approaches
say that irongron gave up to easy
linx wants to leave
then we see a feast at sir edwards castle
the doctor thinks irongron will attack again
he has an idea
capturing irongrons castlle
he gonna make somthing to calm him down
irongron wants to kill linx but he needs him too much
but he will kill him once he gets what he wants
the doctor and sarah janes enter irongrons castle dressed as monks
the enter linxes workshop
they find his ship and professer rubeish
the doctor says if linxes takes off everyone in the castle will die
in the next scene we see inx bringing irongrid weapons
he says he leaving soon and they cant stop him
the doctor tries to break the hypnosis on the scientists
but in walks linx
they hide
he sends the scienstist to work
but they are too weak
he threatens to kill them
but the doctor steps in
he says he wants to help linx cos he want somthing from him
he says he will help him if he undoes the hypnosis on scientists and helps defeat irongron the he will help him fix his ship
linx aims his probe at the doctor
the episode ends

PART FOUR

links strikes the doctor down
sarah jane tries to stop him
he demands his prisoners back to work
a weak doctor points out that they are too exhausted
rubeish sneaks behind linx and whacks him in his probic vent
sarah jane helps the doctor up
he restrains linx
then we see irongron send bloodaxe to fetch linx
he goes but the doctor hides and poses as linx
the doctor tells rubeish to help get the scientist out of hypnosis
sarahjane get caught in the kitchen she pleads hunger
the doctor poses as the robot and goes to see irongron
irongron challenges the robot to fight
bloodaxe and irongron team up on the doctor
irongron tries to destroy the robot
the doctor unmasks himself
irongrons men seize him
irongron says that the doctor will die by wizardry
next we sarah jane working in kitchen puttin a potion in irongrons food
then we see rubeish getting the scientists out of hypnosis
he tells them to work as normal
irongron comes in looking for linx
he finds him tied up
irongron sets him free
then we see the doctor confronted by irongron
the doctor is to be used as target practise
sarah jane hears shooting and flees the kitchen
the doctor manages to dodge the shots fired at him
the doctor escapes aided by sarah jane
they return to sir edwards castle
the doctor says that when linx leaves the castle will burn
he doesnt want anyone to burn with it
not even irongron
then we see linx with the scientists
his ship is now working
then we see irongrods guards dropping down
as he sarah jane and hal watch
they are then in linxes room with rubeish
the doctor tries to turn off the ship
hal disarms all of irongrons sleeping guards
the doctor sends all of the scientist back to their own time
then we see irongron and linx arguing
linx says hes leaving
but irongron refuses to let him go
then irongron and his men all drop to sleep
linx returns to the room
he fires his beam
the doctor block it
hal disarms the men
but irongron wakes to find him
linxes ship throws the doctor across the room
and irongron comes in but linx kills him
hall tells blood axe and the men to run for their lives
the doctor hal and sarah jane flee just in time
the castle explodes
the doctor and sarah jane get into the tardis and say goodbye to hal
the tardis disapears

the power of a name

as some of you know as a writer i find inspiration by a lot of things

but my main inspirations is phrases

little quites and words i hear on the radio or what not

ill hear someting and think that would make a good title for a poem then ill jot it down

like one occassion i heard on the radio someone say bingo with marilyn man

and i thought wow an amazing title

so i got writing

its not really a poem its more like a short story

here it is

very weird
today has been one strange day
it started with a dream
a pshycadelic acid dream of five hundred mermaids all calling my name
wanting me to kiss them
and then i slayed several demons just to rescue those beautiful mermaids from an evil fire dragon
i was just about to recieve my reward
a million shiny gold coins
the king was about to place them in my hand
coin by coin
but then the whole kingdom was reduced to a huge mass of burning flames
and standing amongst those flames was the devil himself
he was staring so hard
his red piercing eyes all ablaze
i knew there and then he wanted to take my soul
but i didnt flinch
i didnt move a muscle
i dont fear no devil
i just looked him straight in his big red eyes and said
"take your best shot"
them i took out a huge magnificent sliver sword from my back pocket
held it high
ready to strike
but the devil was unphased
juat as he was about to turn me in to a japanese fighting toad
i woke up
but i didnt wake up in my cozy little flat in west brom
no
i woke up in a field just outside devon
i was being stared at by a flock of sheep
i was terrified
ok
i know what youre thinking
how the hell can i be scared of a few harmless wooley sheep?
but you dont understand
these were not normal sheep
no
these were mongolian lesser spotted canibal sheep
they were licking their lips
i could tell they thought id make a sumptious breakfast
there was only one thing i could do
run
run for my life
i ran so fast i broke the land speed record
i know this as a fact because i was stopped by a passing representative of the guiness book of records
and i have the certificate to prove it
i looked at my watch
8:50am
this was highly worrying as i had be at work in ten minutes
so i needed to hitch a lift and i needed to do it fast
of course i would of ran but my shoes had fallen apart due to the wear and the presure of how fast i ran from those mongolian canibal sheep
and there was no way i was gonna run back to the west midlands barefooted
that would just be silly
so there i was
hitch hiking
standing on a lay by with my thumb stuck out
to be truthfull i must admit im no good at hitch hiking
three vehicles chose to ignore me
a large circus car
a ninety year old woman on a harley davidson
and a clapped out ford capri being driven by the stig
but then i got lucky
i heard a deafening noise
i looked up
i saw a large hellicopter
its ladders dropped down and i was told told to climb up
the helicopter belonged to an iranian oil tycoon and he offered me a ride
i was only to happy to accept
but how was i to know what was gonna happen next?
how was i to know that there was a big plot to kill this tycoon?
how was i to know there was a bomb on the hellicopter?
the hellicopter exploded two hundred feet up in the air
but luckily i found a spare parachute lying around and by some lucky coincidence i laned safely straight into my place of work
sadly i didnt make it on time
i was one minute late
well nobodies perfect
but things at work were not all tickety boo
it seems that the company could go under at anytime and two million people could lose their jobs and the factory could close down forever
the factory is the size of morroco
there was only one way to save the factory
that would be the invention of a brand new super sandwich
as luck would have it i was a master baker in a former life vand i knew how to make the worlds most delicious bread
and i was happy to ablige
the managing director looked a little aprehensive
he raised his eyebrow and was sweating a little
he screamed loudly
"BUT WHAT WILL GO IN THIS SANDWICH?"
i wasnt worried about this
because for the last five years ive been working on top a secret project in a small shed in bognor regis
ive been working on a breeding project
splicing together five animals
a lamb
a cow
a pig
a turkey
and a chicken
i produced a hybrid mixture of the five animals and bred it for meat
a delicious meat with five different tastes
so i got on the phone and got the meat transported to the factory
then we assembled the perfect sandwich
infact it was the greatest sandwich in the world
word got to buckingham palace in a millisecond
the queen sent for me in her private jet
i presented a sandwich to her majesty
she loved it
instantly i was knighted
and the i joined the queen for afternoon tea
i left just in time to see my psychiatrist
he informs me i lie too much and i live in a fantasy world
i explained im not in a fantasy world im just telling a few porkies for the sake of this story
he advised me to stop right away
but i said i couldnt because the story hasnt finished yet and if it just ended now it would be crap
so he decided to section me
the men in white coast appeared as if by magic
they tried to put me in a straight jacket
but i wasnt gonna put up with it
i pulled out a nice bit of venusian akido john pertwee taught me on the set of doctor who
ok
i know what youre thinking
youre thinking that john pertwee was doctor who between 1970 and 1974 and im only in my late twenties so thats technically impossible
i get your point
but its not impossible
think about it
i have a tardis too
i was bored one day so i nipped back to the seventies had a tutorial from johnny p and home in time for tea
anyway back to the story
where was i?
oh yeah
i escaped the men in white coats with a bit of venusian akido and ran out into the street
this was rush our
the traffic was bumper to bumper
so i ran out into the road
i got run over
but it didnt hurt
knocked me to the ground though
it was a limuosine that knocked me down
i looked up startled
i saw the back door open
and there he was
sir allan sugar
he helped me to my feet
then he insisted that i joined him for dinner at claridges
it would of been rude to say no
so off we went
nothing on the menu really appealed to me
so sir allan or al as i call him got godon ramsey to knock me up some egg and chips
and just for a bit of fun sir allan paid him to serve it wearing a tutu
after that the limo dropped me home
so off to bed i went after such a busy day
what will tomorrow bring?

shooting practice with wayne rooney?

GREEN LANTERN issue 51

ok
lets take a look at issue 51 of green lantern

the issue starts with a fight between lex luthor and larfleeze over the possession of the orange ring
then we see parallax square off with spectre
we also see the other lanterns battling against the black lanterns
aquawoman and tempest fight is out
she wants to know where aquaman is
spectre and parallax do battle
parallax goes into spectres body and destroys the black ring
the spell is broken
spectre is no longer a black lantern
spectre and parallax want to kill each other
parallax tries to tear spectre apart
but sinestro stops him
then artrocitus makes spectre a red lantern
but spectre shakes it off returns to normal
parralax attacks him once more
star sapphire tries to restrain him
but with a blast sinestros yellow hal jordan is released and parallax is no more
the yellow entity disapears
then we see the prison where hector hammond is being held
hal jordan and flash talk spectre into helping them against nekron
but his efforts are unsucsessfull
nekron says that the world will die

BLACKEST NIGHT issue seven

here we are the penultimate part of the blackest night story

issue seven

and let me tell you

its a corker

the issue starts with a number of black lanterns dragging all the guardians towards nekro

he is prepared to kill them

but soon hal jordon and the rest of the coloured lanterns arrive

the prepare for battle

but they are soon brought down

thanks to black hand and his ring

then atrocitus and black kand come face to face

black hand tries to take the hearts of atrocitus but cant find it

hal jordan points out that his ring is his heart

so black hand turns on him instead

hal jordan overpowered by the blackness

but scarecrow comes to help him out

flash is not happy that lex luthor is just watching not helping

luthor then decides he wants to be in control

he wants everyones rings

he battles with aqua woman to try and get her red ring

meanwhile green lantern john stewart is overpowered by tons of black lanterns led by airwave

he seems outnumbered

but then out of nowhere a huge army of lanterns of all colours appear led by green lantern guy gardner

a huge battle takes place

then we see the teen titans battling black lanterns

then dove decides to see if causing damage to the black lantern power battery would stop them

but as she approches it the hears somthing scream to be let out

then we see the lanterns try to restrain lex luthor

black hand escapes from them

then we see nekron holding and killing a guardian

black hand holds the guardian and nekron pulls out his muticoloured heard

he bangs on the ground

the ground erupts into a huge symbol

the lantens look on is amazement as nekron tells what he calls the trespasser to rise

the ground opens with a blinding white light

the light develops into pulsating sleeping beast

nekro wants it dead

he strikes it

but it does no damage

it just lets out a blinding light and a deafening scream

hal jordan asks ganthet what the white light is

he explains its an old secret kept by the guardians

its called the enitity

it triggered existance itself

sinestro is not happy with ganthet for keeping the secret

hal jordan goes to approach the white light

but sinestro pushes him out of the way

says that hal had his chance with parallax

and this was his destiny

sinestro goes into the white light

and emerges out of it a new white lantern

and he claims to be the greatest lantern of them all

ESSENTIAL DOCTOR WHO: an unearthly child

as a few of you know im a huge doctor who fan

so i thought it was only right to do a series focusing on classic doctor who storie

so i thought it was only fitting for the first story for me to cover would be the very first every story

an unearthly child

originally aired between 23rd november and 14th december 1963

starring william hartnell as the first doctor carol ann ford as susan william russell as ian and jaquiline hill as barbara

PART ONE an unearthly child

the first ever scene on doctor who a bobby on the beat outside foremans scrapyard
he goes inside
sees the tardis (complete with st johns ambulance sticker thats gonna be used in the forthcoming series)
next we see barbara and ian discussing the strange talents of susan foreman (cole hill school seen again in school reunion)
they are baffeled by her
and the fact that her home dosnt seem 2 exist
then we meet susan aged 15 (looks at least 30 may even be older as shes a timelord:) )
in my opinion shes an oddball:)
then we see barbara ans ian in a car watching out side the scrapyard hoping to solve the mystery of susan
then susan appears
then goes into the yard
they decided to follow her in
they enter the yard but susan in nowhere to be seen
the stumble across a police box
and feel a vibration
he states its alive (well dur)
they hear coughing
then we see the doctor for the first time
they ask him about susan
but gives them a complete cold front
ian wants to look in the tardis
but the doctor is quite nasty

the doctor tells them susan

barbara runs inside the tardis
they both end up inside
shocked by what they see
its bigger on the inside
explains that is a t.a.r.d.i.s
time and relative dimension in space (she said she made the name out of the initials herself but in time all timelords such as the matster and the rani call their tranport a tardis so how did she make it up?)
ian cant believe that it moves in time of space
then they find out that doctor and susan are aliens
the doctor refuses to let them go
barbera and ian think its all lies
susan say shes from the 49th centuary
barbara and ian try to escape
but its locked
ian points out that he saw the doctor press a button so he goes to the consol but gets a shock
the doctor doesnt let them go
he he fires up the tardis
ian tries to stop him
but they are already traveling
ian and barbara are unconcious
then we see the tardis out side in a deserted wasteland
there is a shadow watching them
the episode ends

PART TWO the cave of skulls

the episode opens where it left of
with the tardis being watched by a shadow
the shadow is revealed to be a cave man
the next scene shows a tribe of cavemen trying to make fire one called za is trying hard
no luck
but his mother seems ro be against it
he still tries
there is talk of the tribe not want za as leader anymore but but someone called cal instead
then we see the tardis again
inside we see barbara and ian coming round from their daze
and realise they are no longer in 1963
ian doesnt belive it
the doctor say they went back in time
ian is shocked that barbara believes them
the doctor opens the door
ian and barbara cant belive their eyes
they step outside the tardis
the doctor is highly disturbed the tardis hasnt changed and its still a police box (im guessing that could be a fault with the chameilion circuit ;) )
the doctor is potering about and the caveman watches him
susan explain the tardis normally changes it appearance
the doctor lights up his pipe and is then attacked by the cave man
barbara susan and ian hear the comotion (susans acting is terrible)
they go looking for him
the next scene shows the cave tribe once more
a man approaches za and says that cal say he knows that orb with show him how to make fire
za get angry and says its gonna be him who makes fire
cal arrives with the doctor on his shoulders
cal says hes saw the doctor make fire from his fingers
cal tells the tribe that za is a bad leader and he would make a better one
the doctor wakes up
cal says the doctor belongs to him
za threatens to kill cal
the doctor offers to make fire
but he cant find his matches
he asks to go back the tardis and he will make fire
za says that cal was lying about the doctor making fire
cal begs the doctor to make fire
the doctor says he cant
cal goes to kill the doctor
but ian susan and barbara arrive in time to stop him
but they grab ian and attempt to kill him
but the doctor shouts "IF HE DIES THERE WILL BE NO FIRE"
the old woma (zas mother) tells cal to kill barbara
but za stops him
za say that they will de when orb gives them fire
the doctor and his friends are taken to the cave of skulls
za tell the father of the woman he love that she is his
but her father says that she will go to the leade
then we see the old woman saying basically fire is nothing but trouble and they should of killed the four strangers
za says the will die when orb shines again
then we see the doctor and the gang in the cave of skulls
the doctor blames himselfs
ian spots a load of skulls that have been split open
the episode ends

PART THREE the forest of fear

we see zas mother take his knife
then we see the doctor and co trying to escape
ian points out that there is air coming from somewhere
but first he needs to get his hands free
zas woman wakes up to see his mother sneeking out
then we see the escape effort again
the doctor tells barbara to have hope and to try and remember the way they came from the tardis
then we see zas woman waking him up
they follow his mother
then we see his mother enter the cave of skulls
she tells them they will not make fire
then we see za and his woman saying that shes probly gone to kill the strangers
he needs to stop her and they will give him fire
they hear the old woman talking
shes tells the doctor that she will set them free if the come away never to return and never to make fire
the doctor assures her there will be no fire
za and his woman try to get in the cave
the old woman smuggles the doctors gang out
she tells za that she set them free so that they wont make fire
za strikes her down
the doctors gang run through the forrest
the doctor is flaggin
they stop a while
they hear a noise
but they carry on
barbara spots somthing in the bushes
the doctor and ian argue
za and his woman are on there trail
baraba spots a dead wilderbeast and screams
za hears her
another beat is heard
za is attacked
the gang run and help
they see to his wounds
the doctor is not happy
he has doubts that the old woman will bring the tribe
then we see the old woman regain slight conciousness
cal finds her
he accuesses za of setting them free
then we go back to the forest and see the gang they said they will make za well if they show them the way back to the tardis
the doctor is not very helpful
they make za a stretcher
cal tells the tribe that za is a traitor
then we see the gang in the forrest
the tribe find the old woman dead (mudered by cal)
but cal blames za
the believe him
cal pronounces himself as leader
then we see the gang find the tardis
to be greeted by cal

PART FOUR the firemaker

ian tells them to get back
the doctor and ian put za down
cal acuses them of setting the doctor and friends free
and killing the old woman
the doctor points out that zas knife has no blood on it
cals knife has blood on it
the doctor outs cal has the murderer
he staes that cal would be a bad leader
the tribe banish him
za becomes leader again
he states cal is the ememy
the doctor and the gang are imprisoned in the cave of skulls yet again
za and the woman talk about the strangers
za thinks they have the secret of fire if the dont tell him they would die
next we see ian tring to make fire
za enters the cave
the doctor tell him they are making fire
za askes to speak to leader
he says if they show him how to make fire he will set them free
ian say the fire maker is the lleast important man
then fire comes
zas womans father says to the tribe that he is no leader
the guard of the cave is killed by the returning cal
he enters the cave
za and cal do battle
za kills cal
the father of zas woman says there is no fire and za is liar
za come out of cave with fire
and says cal is dead
za is the leader
he goes to get meat
he tells the tribe to keep the doctor and the gang in the cave
they tell the woman that they gave them fire and now should be freed
the tribe all gather around the fire
za enters the cave
the doctor aske when can they leave za says they are to stay
and warns them not to try to leave
ian has a plan to fake their own deaths
zas woman finds skulls that the believe to be theirs
the gang make their escape
za and the tribe realise that they have been tricked
they persue them
the gang run for their lives
they make it to the tardis just intime
the doctor gets the tardis moving
the tribe see it disapear
barbara and ian asks the doctor to take them home
he says he cant
they land at their new destination
the radiation meter reads danger
the story ends

as a huge green lantern fan i thought i would be good to cover the comics on here

so i thought id start with the most recent

issue 50

the issue starts with a raging battle in coast city
the black lanterns on a rampage
the corps are united as one
blue lantern flash is being mentored by saint walker
and aqua woman comes face to face with her dead husband
green lantern is confused why scarecrow and lex luthor have been made ring bearers
but as sinestro reminds him the rings choose their owners
larfleeze the orange lantern wants to strip luthor of the ring
meanwhile green lantern comes face to face with a face from the past
spectre
spectre gets the better of him
and green lantern hal jordan is now a black lantern
but the guardians use their powers to revive and make him green again
green lantern battles spectre with help of sinestro and scarecrow
but spectre overpowers scarecrow who gets hung from a cross
all the corps team up against spectre
he just seems to get stronger
green lanten remembers that paralax is the only one who can detroy spectre
so he gets the guardians to put the power batteries together to produce the yellow eliment paralax demon
hal jordan approaches it
but sinestro tries to stop him
the star saphire tries to stop him
but they kiss
then he aproaches the eliment and lets it over power him
and becomes paralax

there were times in the past that i never gave the tv show smallville a second look
but lately friends have highly recomended it as im a huge comic book fan
so i gave it a go
i must say i love it
its the chronicles of a young clark kent before he became superman
living in a meteor hit town
where people seem to get effected all the time
in this first season clark encounters such opponents as shapeshifting schoolgirl an ice absorbing football player a mind reading orphan and an old aged murder who becomes young again
the series also focuses on other characters such as clarks parents love interest lana lang and a young lex luthor
this first season was gripping i was riveted
the season end with a cliffhanger lana stuck in a tornado
we have to wait until next season to see if clark can save her on time
but as im so behind i only have to wait until tonight

BLACKEST NIGHT superman

as im already covering the man series i thought id cover some the tie in that are out there
so todat the focus is on the 3 part superman story
and let me tell you i was gripped
i couldnt put it down
i read all 3 comics in one sitting
was fantastic

ISSUE ONE

the opening scene in the superman of earth2 rising from the dead
the next couple of pages show the people of smallville going about their business
but there is a dark shadow above
then we see the sheriff and a cop having a heated discusion
the sheriff is sucked into a hole in the ground
the darkness decends over smallville
the next scene is the kent farm
where clark martha and conner and dog krypto are awaiting the arrival of lois lane
when they here a noise
clark and conner go and find out whats going on
clark becomes superman
they find themselves in the graveyard
overcome with fear they encounter the black lantern superman of earth 2
he offers to reunite them with their dead father
the three of them do battle
the next page shows martha and krypto
all of a sudden the wall explodes
throwing krypto across the room
standing their is a very dead black lantern lois lane
meanwhile clark and conner are still doing battle with superman of earth2 who knocks conner out and sends him plunging to his death
clark catches him in the knick of time
meanwhile in the of kandor on the planet new krypton supergirl returns due to her fathers death and is reunited with her mother
together the go and view his body
at that very moment he rises as a black lantern
back in smallville clark and conner land on ground looking for superman of earth2
the soon find him with lois lane
holding their mother hostage

ISSUE TWO

issue two starts with happy scenes of smallville earlier that day
but now the streets of smallvile are in chaos
as conner and clark do battle with superman of earth2
whilst marth watches on whilst being restrained by lois
but then a new black lantern apears
roger hayden the psycho pirate
he starts controlling the emotions of the people of smallville
clark and conners battle with superman of earth2 continues
but conner manages to zap off lois lanes arm with his eyes
martha escapes into a nearby field
the battle rages on
the people of smallville are consumed by a mixture of emotion fear rage and many more
the psycho pirate finds a new victim to unload his emotions on
conner kent
he is filled with rage and then attacks clark
meanwhile on kandor the father of supergirl is on a rampage leaving bodies in his wake
then he comes face to face with supergirl
she tells him that her father his dead and that this creature is not her father
she punches half his head off
but it seems to make him stronger
he vows to kill the city
the closing pages show the black lantern lois lane searching for martha
but martha is ready to fight

ISSUE THREE

the opening scene is krypto sensing a disturbance
meanwhile supoergirl battles her father
whilst the people of smallville wreak havoc
clark struggles to fight conner
but he knows its the psycho pirates doing
but then superman of earth2 attacks clark and conner plunges once more
next we see martha hiding from lois
but they are soon face to face
martha sets fire to her
but it has no effect
lois is ready to kill
but krypto comes to the rescue
he tears the black lantern ring from her fingers
lois plunges into oblivion
matha sends krypto to help conner and clark
the next page shows supergirls mother trying to gather weapons
she then goes to help her daughter
conner and superman of earth2 gang on clark
conner starts to do battle with his emotions
we next see supergirl being heped by her mother
then we see conner overcome his emotions and is now back on side with clark
psycho pirate is still wreaking havoc on the streets
but he is confronted by conner who takes his mask away from him
as clark still battles with superman of earth2
supergirl is a little worse for wear she is now in the arms of her mother as her father explodes into the sun
with psycho pirate deafeted clark and krypto try and fight off superman of earth2
but then connner arrives and uses the mask to fill him up with emotions
overpowered the superman of earth2 plunges to his death
the final pages shows conner and clark planning to fix up smallville and then on to join the rest of the dc universe in the big fight against the black lanterns

Michelle McCool & Layla def. Gail Kim & Maryse

Michelle McCool & Layla defeated Maryse & Gail Kim in an impromptu Divas Tag Team Match ordered at the last minute by SmackDown Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero, live from the "Gateway City."

It had been a hard fought Divas Championship Tournament after Melina was forced to vacate the title due to injury. After many grueling and action-packed matches, Gail Kim and Maryse were set-up to square off for the coveted Divas Championship. The match was set for WWE Elimination Chamber and a heated, yet fairly civil, rivalry was about to reach its pinnacle.

However, the conclusion to the Divas Championship Tournament was simply not in the cards for WWE Elimination Chamber as SmackDown Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero changed the match at the very last second. Feeling that the SmackDown Divas were not properly represented in the night’s event, she postponed the Championship Match and set a tag team contest, Gail Kim & Maryse vs. SmackDown Divas Michelle McCool & Layla.

Vickie Guerrero cited Raw Divas’ comments against SmackDown’s sexy, smart and powerful women as a major factor in her decision to order the match change.

As the bout got underway, it became abundantly clear that Maryse had no interest in being Gail Kim’s partner and refused to tag into the contest. This allowed Michelle McCool and Layla to pick up a victory for SmackDown in what essentially became more of a handicap encounter.

Adding insult to injury, after the match, Maryse then hit Gail Kim with the French Kiss, leaving her eventual Divas Championship opponent laid out in the middle of the ring. While tensions further erupted between Gail Kim and Maryse, the night ended with a still vacated Divas Championship.

United States Champion The Miz def. MVP

United States Champion The Miz appeared at Elimination Chamber as per usual to talk up himself, and more specifically his role as a WWE Pro on Tuesday’s premiere episode of WWE NXT. However, when “The Awesome One” was forced to defend his U.S. Title, he ended up adding further legitimacy to his frequent, self-aggrandizing claims by defeating his frequent rival, MVP.

While being interviewed by Josh Mathews about the debut of WWE NXT, The Miz took the opportunity to degrade his NXT Rookie, Daniel Bryan. Just as he did on his WWE Universe blog, the United States Champion criticized Bryan for his lack of personality, but before he could go on for too long, “The Awesome One” was interrupted by none other than MVP. By pinning Miz during a Unified Tag Team Championship Match on Raw, The Ballin’ Superstar earned another chance to win the U.S. Title. MVP then went on to inform a surprised Miz that he’d be cashing in that opportunity later in the night.

When it came time for the U.S. Title Match, both Superstars came to the ring with some heavy artillery. While The Miz was accompanied by fellow Unified Tag Team Champion Big Show, MVP was backed up by his frequent tag team partner, Mark Henry. Though both ring warriors have become increasingly familiar with one another's tactics due to their frequent skirmishes, The Ballin' Superstar benefited the most from the knowledge, as he spent much of the match in complete control.

Things started to unravel for MVP however, when Big Show became involved in the contest. Though Mark Henry attempted to prevent any foul-play, The World's Largest Athlete retaliated by sending The World's Strongest Man through a barricade. Then, with the referee distracted, Big Show landed a Knockout Punch on MVP, giving The Miz just the opening he needed to pin his rival and retain his U.S. Championship.

Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre def. Kane

Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre will do whatever it takes to win — a fact he proved yet again at WWE Elimination Chamber, stealing a victory over Kane to escape with his coveted championship still in his possession.

Personally signed by Mr. McMahon, McIntyre has been supremely confident since arriving on SmackDown, but even a Superstar as cocky as he is had trepidations about stepping into the ring with The Big Red Monster. Since the two men first crossed paths in a Triple Threat Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match, Kane has had his sights set on McIntyre’s Intercontinental Championship. It seemed as though nothing the arrogant Scotsman did could stop the focused monster on his path of destruction.

Facing off with the former WWE Champion at Elimination Chamber, McIntyre knew he couldn’t match Kane in the strength department. Instead, the crafty Intercontinental Champion targeted the 7-footer’s center of gravity, repeatedly attacking the giant’s knees during the bout. When this strategy failed to stop the destructive Kane, McIntyre opted to cheat, hitting his opponent with a thumb to the eye to set up the Future Shock DDT for the pin.

With this victory, the Intercontinental Champion’s undefeated streak continues. But has McIntyre vanquished his diabolical opponent or only made him angrier? Find out this Friday night on SmackDown.

Chris Jericho wins Elimination Chamber Match (New World Heavyweight Champion)

In a shocking upset, Chris Jericho outlasted five elite SmackDown Superstars to become a six-time World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Elimination Chamber. But, his victory wasn’t simply a case of Jericho being “the best in the world at what he does.” Ultimately, his triumph came with some shocking “Heartbreak,” in the form of HBK.

Nonetheless, Jericho overcame tremendous odds to capture the World Championship inside Satan’s Structure, outlasting not only the legendary Undertaker, but also John Morrison, CM Punk, R-Truth and Rey Mysterio.

The career-threatening match proved to be a brutal battle from the moment CM Punk locked horns with R-Truth at the opening bell. The Second City Saint defeated the rapping Superstar with the GTS before Rey Mysterio could even enter the Chamber at No. 3. The Master of the 619 – who has a tremendous score to settle with Punk for the back-to-back assaults he has endured on SmackDown – returned the favor by pinning Punk with a splash before Jericho could enter at No. 4.

John Morrison entered at No. 5, initiating a fast-paced trifecta of pain that eventually ended with The Guru of Greatness pinning Mysterio with Starship Pain.

The Demon of Death Valley entered last, finishing off The Shaman of Sexy with a chokeslam onto the unforgiving steel.

The Undertaker then turned his attention back to Jericho. But just as he seemed ready to finish off his prey, Shawn Michaels suddenly emerged from under the Chamber and executed an earth-shattering Sweet Chin Music to cost the World Champion his title.

Although Shawn Michaels’ attack on The Phenom came as a surprise to the entire WWE Universe, it is no secret that HBK has been consumed with his attempts to face The Deadman in a WrestleMania rematch for months. Clearly, the frustration of coming up short in his quest time and time again - with devastating losses in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match at Raw – has taken its toil.

Despite the circumstances surrounding Jericho’s triumph, the enormity of his feat can not be denied. By conquering the dreaded, steel terror that is the Elimination Chamber, the highly decorated Superstar did more than back-up his claim that he would capture the illustrious title two days earlier on SmackDown. His monumental triumph has earned him the right to headline WrestleMania, adding to his already amazing list of accolades.

John Cena wins Elimination Chamber Match; Batista defeats Cena (New WWE Champion)

Few men have felt the sting of that axiom quite like John Cena. The Superstar had struggled against five resolute rivals – Sheamus, Triple H, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and Kofi Kingston – in one of the most unforgiving structures ever devised to capture his sixth WWE Championship. An exhausted Cena basked in his accomplishment as the WWE Universe reigned their approval upon him. Glory was his.

That glory, however, proved fleeting indeed. Mr. McMahon and his de facto enforcer as of late, Batista, made their way to the ring. The Chairman informed the newly crowned champion that he must defend his title against The Animal – immediately. Cena appeared incredulous, but knowing Mr. McMahon, perhaps he should have expected just such a despicable twist. Despite a valiant effort, Cena seemed too battered, too spent to mount a worthy defense, and he was forced to relinquish the championship to a victorious Batista.

This final shocking turn capped off an entire match littered with surprises. The biggest shake-up may have been the further dismantling of The Legacy. If ringleader Orton had come to question the loyalty of DiBiase, he needn’t question it any further – it’s long gone. As DiBiase and The Viper battled inside the chamber, Rhodes came to the ring to sneak a lead pipe to his mentor. DiBiase, however, claimed the pipe and bashed Orton with it before pinning him.

In other action, the seemingly unstoppable Sheamus met his match against Triple H. It was The King of Kings who avenged an attack from The Celtic Warrior a week earlier and put an end to his tyrannical rule by eliminating Sheamus from the bout. The Game would eventually face Cena, who forced him to tap out to claim the title, brief as it was.

What will happen in the wake of such unexpected developments remains to be seen, but it’s unlikely that any of the six Superstars involved in the match will give up their quest for the most revered of treasures, the WWE Championship. After all, glory may be fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.

so if you remember a couple of weeks ago i posted a blog on the new meat loaf album untitled hang cool teddy bear
and i said that this could be a cover up for bat out of hell 4
however now the artwork has been comfirmed for hang cool teddy bear (see above)
so its more or less done and dusted??
however
if you look closely theres a skeleton lying on the ground
if going by the dagger in his hand id go as far to say that the skeleton belongs to the motor cyclist on the bat of hell album covers
the burned out bike backs my theory up even more
so could this mean that hang cool teddy bear is really bat out of hell 4?
or maybe it could symbolise the death of the bat out of hell franchise?
or am i reading to much into this?

let me cast your mind back to the 8th of december of last year
i posted a blog about a workdshop i attended
i was shown a skill where i has five words/descriptions and had to write a couple of lines on each then expand them until i had a big piece of writing
i tried this again
but without a picture
this time i used a book
i opened at random pages
then pointed a pen at random words/ phrases
they were:
just imagine
dared to defy
friend she was abandoning
the constant fear of making a mistake
it was about to be solved

paradise

jane could just imagine a new life for herself
she just needed to escape
to get away from everything
her dead end job
a town that held nothing for her
she had become disillusioned buy her hum drum life
nothing exciting ever seemed to happen
she just followed everyone else on the daily rat race
she just went with the flow
followed all the rules
so many rules that she never dared to defy
but maybe she had to break the rules to make her life a little more interesting
or maybe she just needed a change of scene
she had a collection of post cards from far away exotic places that she could only dream of visiting
but she decided now is the time
today was the start of a new chapter in her life
her bags were all packed
and in her hand was a train ticket
a ticket to nowhere in particular
but to her it was just the beginning of her journey to paradise
she had no bad feelings
no guilt
the only thing she felt guilty about was debbie a friend she was abandoning
debbie herself was also trapped in a souless
she has spent years trying to break away

they were both glad of each others company
the very thought of this adventure filled them both with excitment
this was a feeling they were not too familiar with
but they liked it

and the constant fear of making a mistake was somthing they needed to overcome if this journey was going to be a success
they just needed to walk into the future leaving the worries of the past behind
they were both mesmerised by the mysteries of the world
now was the time for them to find out what planet earth had instore
the taxi was now outside
as jane locked the door to her flat she couldnt help wondering if she would ever go back
she wasnt sure if she cared
she was just going to see what happens
as they both got in the taxi jane took a deep breath
bracing herself for the adventure that she and debbie were about to embark on
as the taxi drove away they said goodbye to their old town building by building
as they arrived in the station jane felt an extreme case of butterflies in her stomach
to her this was a strange feeling
but it was a good feeling
and there it was
their train to paradise
the train that will take them to their destiny
as they stepped on the train jane looked at debbie
the smile said more than a million words
she was the happiest she had ever been
this gave jane so much satisfaction
because maybe debbie needed this more than she did
but now they had the freedom they had both yearned for
they sat on the train looking at the people around them
all eager to escape their own hum drum lives
lots of faces on the train
faces of wonder
faces of excitement
faces of happiness
happiness because they all knew that they will wake up tomorrow in a new place
happy travellers
happy knowing the mysteries of the world are about to be solved
the train pulled out of the station

blackest night issues 4-6

yestardays blog went on slightly longer than i was banking on
after three or more hours of sitting here typing i decided to split it up into two parts
so now is the second part of our recap on the blackest night saga and it will take us bang up to date

ISSUE FOUR

this issue is not very plot heavy really
plenty of battle scenes from the opening
as aqua woman battles hawkgirl
the atom battles hawkman
the flah battles firestorm
however the current firestorm possessed by the original firestorm is tricked intoo murdering is own girlfriend
and swears revenge on the orinal however hes possessed and halfway to becoming a black lantern
the next few pages focus on a couple of new comers to the story
the scarecrow is shown saying that nothing can scare him
nothing but batman
he says this when confronted by the black lantern azrael
the next page shows lex luthor looking at a list of the dead
aquawoman flash and the atom find themselves in an office surrounded by telephones
so they call for help
a lot of help comes in the form of
kid flash
wonderwoman
allan scott (original green lantern)
green arrow
to name but a few
the battle rages on
the end sees the flash transported to a grave yard
where the black hand waits for him
he arrives in time to see the rising of a new black lantern
nekron
who utters the words
"barry allen you owe me your life"
"you all do"

ISSUE FIVE

this issue starts on the planet ryut
where the gardians have brought together representatives of the colours of the spectrum of light
hal jordan (green lantern)
sinestro(yellow lantern)
atrocitus(red lantern)
larfleeze(orange lantern)
saint walker(blue lantern)
star sapphire (violet lantern)
indigo-1(indigo tribe)
the only light that is missing is the black lantern
it must be found
meanwhile nekron watches as the black hand brutally beats the flash(barry allen)
but the another flash (wally west)comes to the rescue
and he does not come alone
he arrives with
superman
wonder woman
kidflash
and manymore
the battle between the dead and the living rages on
the spectrum oflight people join the battle
but they are soon joined by a new black lantern
batman
he throws out black lantern rings to the heroes who once died then came back to life
such as
green arrow
wonderwoman
superman
kid flash
they are all now black lanterns

ISSUE SIX

green lantern is mobbed by the black lanterns
as they think he and flash belong with them
the battle becomes heated
the ring fly towards green lantern and flash
waiting to be worn
but this doesnt happen
another green lantern (john stewart) is chased by thousands of black lanterns
the battle rages out of control
gathet a blue lantern guardian sees there is somthing else needed
he makes himself a green lantern
he programs all the other lantern rings to distbute one more ring each
the flash becomes a blue lantern
lex luthor becomes an orange lantern
the scarecrow becomes a yellow lantern
the atom becomes a member of the indigo tribe
aquawoman becomes a red lantern
the poweer fights and breaks wonder womans black ring
she becomes a violet lantern
the all stand proud
and as the issue ends blue lantern flash states "all will be well"

i meant to blog about this a long time ago
but i never got round to it
so now is a matter of playing catch up
so heres the deal
im a big comic book fan
my favorate being green lantern
so last summer i was gripped by the start of a new series of eight comic books entitled BLACKEST NIGHT
ive been gripped by this monthly for the last six months
and now with two issues left i wait in excitment about the forthcoming sequel BRIGHTEST DAY
as this will be covered in future blogs i thought it would be best to also cover BLACKEST NIGHT
as there is only two issues remaining i thought it would be nice to recap the story so far issue by issue starting with issue one(ok i know there was an issue zero which was given away free but i dont have that and its quite hard to come by but i am looking for it and will post it if i get hold of it)

ISSUE ONE

the story starts with black hand risen from the dead
but theres voices in his head
someone telling him no one can escape death
then we get a look at the black lantern power battery
and the story goes on the green lantern corps and the loved ones they have lost
the following pages show a number of people at the gravesides of a number of fallen heroes such as aqua man
the next page shows bruce waynes faithfull butler alfred attend the grave of his masters parents
only to find that the grave has been dug up and the bodies are no longer there
then next page show the justice league hq where we find green lantern and the flash exploring the vaults where the remains of all the dead enemies are kept
green lantern updates flash (who has recently returned from the dead himself)on who has died in his absence
heroes like batman aquaman martian manhunter enlongated man and his wife
the next page shows hawkman on the phone to the atom
the next few pages concerntrate on events on the planet oa where the guardians look on in disgust as the watch all the various lanterntern corps do battle do battle with each other
the focus shines on the green lantern corps namely kyle raynor and guy gardner as they are bombarded by a swarm
its a swarm of black lantern rings
the next few pages show many of the dead rising wearing their black lantern rings
there is now a huge army of black lanterns
then it shows flash and green lantern confronted by the black lantern martian manhunter
the final pages of this issue focus on the brutal murder on hawkman and hawkgirl at the hands of the black lantern elongated man
the final scene shows their corpses rise as black lanterns

ISSUE TWO

this issue is kind of uneventfull
it starts with the atom on the phone to hawkman
hawkman invites him around
the atom agrees unknowing that hawkman is now a black lantern
the next scene takes us to gotham city where comissioner gordon stands on the rooftop displaying the bat signal in vain
just to find green lantern thrown into the lamp smashing it
the next few pages find aquawoman and tempest and some mermen at aquamans grave side
to the black lantern aquaman with vengence in his eyes
then we see a few more rise from the dead
then a few pages later we catch up with aquaman as aquawoman tries to take him down
the mermen became sharkfood
then the follwing pages show pther names become black lanterns
one being spectre who announces he wants hal jordan
as flash fights martian manhunter green lantern explains what is going on to commissioner gordon
then we see aquamans battle continue
but tempest is killed and becomes the newest black lantern
then we catch up with flash and green lantern and we see martian manhunter disapear in a cascade of flames
but they havnt seen the last of him

ISSUE THREE

this issue starts with a battle of flames
green lantern and flash are up against martian manhunter elongated man the original starfire hawkman and hawkgirl
but a battered and beaten atom turn up to even numbers
the next few pages show the current firestorm at the justice league hq watching with horror the events on the monitor
when he is aproached by aquawoman
meanwhile atom flash seem to be outnumbered
but then there is a flash of bright indigo
and a man and a woman appear
and use their powers to zap away the black lanterns
and then the teleport themselves flash green lantern and atom to the justice league hq
there they meet aquawoman and firestorm
the woman introduces herself as indigo-1 and she explains that they are from the indigo tribe
and that they are part of the spectrum of light
but they are soon seiged by martian manhunter and the rest of the blacklanterns
the original firestorm plays mindgames
leaving the current firestorm powerless
then the vault of dead enemies open and they rise
as black lanterns

so a few days ago he released a video on the internet revealing the title of this new album

over the last day or two ive been doing a bit of investigation

this is what wikpedia tells us

Hang Cool, Teddy Bear is the upcoming eleventh studio album by Meat Loaf. It is scheduled to be released on 19 April 2010. It will be the first since Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose in 2006.

Since May 2009, Meat Loaf has been in the studio working on the album with American Idiot producer Rob Cavallo working with such writers as Justin Hawkins(who has written five ttracks for this album), Dianne Warren and Jon Bon Jovi. Currently this will be only the fourth album by Meat Loaf not involving Jim Steinman in its production. Guests on the album include Brian May, Steve Vai, Pearl Aday, Patti Russo, Hugh Laurie, amongst others. Though much has not been revealed Meat has given away some information through videos he has been posting on Twitter. The album has been officially completed as of December 11th 2009.

The first single from the album, "Los Angeloser", will be released on 2 April.

Meat Loaf has confirmed that the album will have 15 tracks, though no song titles have been officially announced nor any confirmed but a track name was let slip by Meat on his Twitter video. last i had a dream
i was on a bus
and goodlooking lady was on the bus with her little boy
the bus stopped
she got off
but the bus closed its doors and drove off
i saw the woman out the window
she was destressed
the little boy was in tears
i told the bus driver to stop
he refused
after a bit of argueing he stopped the bus
so i got off the bus and walked up the road and reunited mother and child
then we went for a drink
and saw a lot of eath other other the following weeks
i cant remember her name just that her child was called jake
i know it was a dream
and shes probly not real
but shes been in my head all day

maybe she is real and dreamt about last night too

a tired romantic geek today
at 4.30am this morning i was wired to a drip in sandwell hospital
i started with a cronic stomach pain on monday very painfull
had a few small pains during yestarday
then at 3.15 this morning i woke up and thought id been stabbed
ive never known pain like it
so i called 999
and the response i got was u will get a call back in the next 6o minutes
there i was in agony
but within 5 minutes i got the call
and after a few questions
i was told there would be no ambulance
as it dosent sound life threatening
just to take a couple of painkillers and call my gp
this pain was so grueling i just couldnt cope
so i got a lift to the hospital from my parents
and i was seen almost right away
the doctor said to complain about that 999 call
had blood tests and urine test was pumped with lots of pain killer drugs
and it turns out i had a kidney stone
i have to for a scan soon
and i havee been told to go back if i have another bout of pain like that
but next time i think i could be in a little longer than 3 hours

the greatest moment as a wrestling fan

last thursday for me was quite possibly the greatest day of my life
as a life long wrestling fan i was very excited to to coventry and watch tna wrestling
we also managed to get tickets to the fan access too
where we met nine of the worlds greatest wrestlers
so then as a suprise birthday present my friend upgraded the tickets to fron row ring side
this was an amazing view
then we saw the owner of the company dixie carter walking around so we couldnt resist a photo oppertunity
however the magic didnt end there
the anouncer said that whoever was the loudest there would get a back stage pass
and of course i got one:)
i knew my big mouth would get me somewhere
so we went back stage and met more wrestlers
it was an amzing day

the subject of todays post may be a little out of date but its somthing i wrote on the 2nd of january of this year
as many of you will know im a huge fan of doctor who and of course i sat in front of the tv on new years day watching david tennants final episode
it inspired me to write this poem
a homage to the tenth doctor

you went to new earth and met the face of boe
met queen victoria and a wolf and fought tooth and claw
then solved a mystery with sarah jane like you used to do before

and on paralell earth you saw the cybermen advance
in 1953 you stopped an evil telly
then met the ood and give satan some welly
saw a little girls drawing and the problems they posed
encountred doomsday in torchwood and goodbye to rose

met donna for the first time saved her from a marriage of doom
then met up with martha jones in a hospital on the moon

had an adventure with agatha christie just like her own books
went to the library with invisible monster that eat flesh
you would expierianced any of this if donna didnt turn left

you said goodbye to donna so her head didnt explode

went to the planet of the bed on a bus breaking through
you managed to stay dry in the waters of mars
then encountered a world full of masters in all the houses and cars

its doors are locked forever
he mans not around anymore
he hasnt be here for years
hes not here to protect it
i cant protect it
the batteries in my thundercats sword ran out years ago
and lion-o is nowhere to be seen
things are so different now
gone are the days i would sit there with baited breath waiting to see if skeletor or mummra were going to get what was coming to them
but now im stood on the back of a lorry watching some driver complaning that some dickhead as spilled his load
where did the years go?
whatever happened to that little seven year old i once was?
im now old enough to have a seven year old myself
but i havent
instead im stood on the back of some lorry in some factory
then i go home to an empty flat
rent payed by my basic wage
this wasnt how i dreamt it when i was a boy

we all did
but we never do
i had dreams of being superman

and ive never found my lois lane
well maybe i did
but im just not her superman
but she is just like me
the carebears and my little pony deserted her many years ago
she has long since given up waiting for dogtanian and the muskerhounds to rescue her
she like me is also a slave to the grind
disillusioned with adult life
now realising that the fairtales her mom once read her arent true
theres no narnia at the back of the wardrobe
just cobwebs and a shirt that hasnt fit for three years
we both occaisionally meet up in some over priced coffee shop talking about chidhood memories
laughing about zippy george and bungle or sooty sweep and su
saying how life isnt the same as it was when we were kids
but of course its not
we are no longer kids
we are no longer those bleery eyed kids who used to come home after an eventfull day at school to a meal that was cooked properly not these burgers that cook in the microwave that break neck spped that the kids eat today
then we sat infront of the telly watching ed the duck in the broom cupboard
but nowadays its different
get home after a stressfull yet day at work not bothered to cook anything so throw some god awful ready meal into the microwave or maybe order some greasey undercooked takeaway
no broom cupboard on tve just news
news of credit crunch swine flu the war on terror and the death of micheal jackson
oh the death of micheal jackson
theres another piece of my childhood gone forever
even though i must admit over the last few years i have been one of his harshest critics
but i seemed to forget when i was six or seven i totally idolised the man
i used to moonwalk until my little hearts content
i knew all of his songs word for word
but i traded my micheal jackson tapes in for metallica cds years ago
i guess i just out grew them
im not the boy i used to be
im now a man
thats hard to take in at times
im now living in the big world
in my one bedroom flat
a flat which is decorated with statues of daleks and cybermen
and thundercats boxsets line the shelves
i myself walk aroud proudly waering a transformers t-shirt
am i nostalgic for the old times?
or do i just simply refuse to grow up?

i went to see tragedy the metal tribute to the bee gees
in one word AWSOME
i even got on stage and danced toppless(unfornatley i dont have pics or vids of this but working on it)
they gave me a towel (which i got signed after the show) and a drum stick

this past saturday i attended an event in wednesbury called creative community
i took part in a writers workshop
i was taught a great new way of writing
what happened was one person was given a picture
the other person couldnt see that picture
then the other person would give five descriptions for the other to write down

my five were

sofa
glazes tiles
guilt lettering
borded up
green

then we had to write two sentances on each description inter linking them to the next one

and when that was finished we had to read them over and keep adding to it until we had a complete piece of work

so here is my finished article

no pennies down the back of the old sofa that had been thrown out onto the cold wet street
nothing more than a mouldy custard cream and the batteries to the tv remote
but the tv is no longer there just a smashed old record player that has not been played since buddy holly realeased his last single
a few old glazed tiles have dropped on to the sofa all cracked chipped and broken
long past their best
just like that guilt lettering on the pub across the pub across the road
it has now lost the shine of its former glory now caked in dust and dirt and the residue from the exhaust fumes from passing cars
but its been a long time since any car has driven down this road
the pub itself is boarded up
the last pint was served here years ago
gone are the days when it was the place to be
packed to the rafters on a friday night
full of laughing people smoking and talking over the noise of the juke box whilst people play pool and a crowd gather to watch a big darts game
but now the place is deserted no one there except the odd stray cat and a family of rats
the jukebox lies on its side all smashed up all the record have gone except for one bannanarama single that has been skimmed across the room
but the dartboard still remains
there are no darts though
the lamp floats infront of the dartboard dangling from an electrical cable
but the power was cut some time ago
the surrouding area is a mass of grey
the fields are no longer the lavish green they once were
the grass has been replaced by concrete and rubble
a place where children played football and where people walked their dogs has now become a building site soon to be the location of luxuary apartments
home to a new generation of families
is this progress?
or will history repeat itself?

infact she inspired me to write a poem

nobody does the weather like you can
with your shiny hair and slight tan
how i crave to be your man

every evening you make my heartrate rise

but would you go for a man of my size?

at six twenty you look so well
with the forecast that you tell
even if its a frozen hell
you give my heart a sunny spell

your the best part of the central news show
i watch five nights in a row
i feel sad everytime you go

my proudest moment as a poet

heres somthing that happened in july
somthing that made me quite proud
im a huge fan of the band the wildhearts
and their singer ginger is somewhat of a hero to me
and i was lucky enough to meet him in may
and to my suprise he was such a nice bloke
so then i was inspired to write a poem dedicated to him
i wrote a poem consisting of references to his songs
then in july we had went to see him perform live in birmingham
so i took a copy of the poem and was planning to throw it on stage or somthin
but just before the show i saw my mate buck talking to a roadie
then during the show the said roadie picked me out of the crowd
next thing i know i was on stage stange next to my hero
reading the poem
he seemed to lik it
i was so proud of myself
i must admit i was a little emotional aferwards

its been way too long
almost a year would you believe
ive had a few emails (well one) asking when im gonna blog again
well im sorry and i plan to be back for good

so.......
a lot has happened since i last blogged
too much
some of the stuff would of made great blogs too
so ill give you a bit of a recap

i read at this years saint georges march in stone cross
and at sandwell valley the day before
i got to rub shoulders with keith chegwin

i self published a little booklet of my poetry
and i am now working on my sencond one

i also am 75 quid lighter in the pocket
as a couple of months ago i was collared by sandwell over enthusiastic litter patrol
but dont get me started on that

and i recently had swine flu
not nice

and i also acheived my proudest moment as a poet
i wrote one for my musical hero and read it to his face
there is video footage of this
its too good not to share
so it appear in a future blog

so thats about it from my first blog back
i got lots of ideas to get this blog up and running again

people i know may find this absurd
as im never short of things to say
but my poetic abillities have just gone away

gone are the days id just sit and write
about all my dreams and day to day shite
about my love life or maybe the lack
ive ran out of ideas ive just lost the knack

now i cant seem to take the time
to put down my thoughts in words that rhyme
no little stories or rhyming verse
this writers block just seems to get worse

so im sat here with a paper and pen
trying to recapture the magic again
but its hard to think of a theme
as nothing ever happens and ive forgotten all my dreams

looking for a subject i cant seem to find
trying to salvage the thoughts in my mind
pick a subject and try to carry on
so ive decided to write about the time my inspiration was gone

i spent a few days in blackpool

so i thought id post a poem i wrote whilst i was there

sin city

sin city is jam packed
almost every night
usually kicks off
with a violent cat fight

parties of drunks
constantly line the streets
smelling of alcohol
and the burgers they eat

drunken jack the lad
thinks he could get any girl he likes
but he gets out of hand
when hes told to take a hike

the average man
works hard from day to day
then takes his money to old sin city
and gambles it all away

theres lots of entertainment
singers dancers and if youre in a funny mood
there are lots of great comedians
but most of them are rude

there are special gentlemans clubs
where lots of ladies walk around
they will dance on your lap
and take their clothes off if you give them twenty pounds

im not into drugs
but some people are just hooked
there are lots right here in sin city
you only have to look

so take a look around
there is so much here to see
when you need a bit of fun
sin city is the place to be

would like to apologise for the lack of blogs over the last week

lots of personal problems going on

and i was working nights

so im hoping to get back on track

saying that im going away for the weekend so there will be another small gap

in todays blog

whatever happened to bella emberg?

i remember her has that chubby woman on the russ abbot show

to be honest for a long time i thought she was dead

but shes not

so i consulted wikapedia

sadly theres not a lot on her

but this is what i found

Bella Emberg (born Sybil I. Dyke 16 September 1937 in Hove, Sussex, England, UK) is a British actress probably best known for her appearances on The Benny Hill Show and The Russ Abbot Show, where she notably played Blunderwoman. She has also appeared in Softly, Softly and Z Cars.

i want to start a new regular segment on the blog

i wanna look up old celebrities from yestaryear and see what they are up to nowadays

so the first one i wanna look at is matthew corbett

i remember from the sooty show in the 80s

of course you dont hear of him now

so i hit the web to find out his whereabouts

this is what wikipedia has to say

Matthew Corbett (born 28 March 1948) in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, born Peter Graham Corbett, is an English television personality best known for The Sooty Show and latterly Sooty and Co.

He took over Sooty from his father Harry Corbett in 1976, and retired in 1998.
Corbett was born in Guiseley, West Riding of Yorkshire. In the late 1960s or early 1970s, he had to choose another stage name, as there was already another Peter Corbett registered. He kept his surname, but when choosing his new first name he was told it must be a name that is long, and so he chose the name of Matthew; for television purposes he has always remained as Matthew Corbett.

this one was inspired by a conversation i heard in the queue in mcdonalds
it was between two youths and went a little somthing like this

youth 1; he robbed an old lady and stabbed someone innit
youth 2; yeah hes got a nice coat though

so i thought it would be a good idea for a poem

its not all bad

leaving them all for dead
yeah but hes got an amazing coat

he stole a car and went for a joyride
crashed leaving an elderly couple seriously hurt

frantically wielding a baseball bat
used to rob them of their pension
yeah but how cool is his hat?

she was involved in a drunken bar fight
leaving her victims a bloody mess
using a wkd bottle as a weapon

he robbed an off licence
taking all the ciggies and booze
selling them in local pubs
yeah but i love his shoes

shes known as a home wrecker
breaking up families without a care
then moves on to the next man

he embessled money from his company
covering it up with bare faced lies
sending people to unemployment
yeah but hes got beautiful eyes

shes a convicted murderer

hospital radio update

a few people have been asking how i have been getting on with my hospital radio

so i thought i would give you a bit of an update

well

ive now got my id badge as you can see

and ive been havin training

its been going really well

i got back in to it quite easy

its like riding a bike

should be on air sometime in october

on tuesdays at 8pm for a 2 hour show

we have spoke about the format

i am thinkin

first hour patient requests

second hour rock show

so thats all there is to tell so far

so today i made it my mission to sort my council tax out
even though i was at work
it took me 20 mintes to get through
then i was on hold for half an hour
so i forced to give up
so naturelly i was anxious and edgey
so i tried 2 ask my boss if i could leave work early
he said no
by this point i was fuming
sometime past and he finally agreed
so i went up the council house at 3pm
had an half hour wait
but was in and out after that
i explained that my mom paid to months intallments yestarday
and now im infront on my payments
so the helpful fellow cancelled my final notice
and i no long have to pay £320
a weight of my mind
im now a happy bunny
:)

my day has been what i can only decribe as shitty
it started as soon as i woke up
i recieved a text from a special lady(one i write a lot of my finest poetry about) she cancled our lunch date

then about five minutes later i spilled black ink over my beloved west bromwich albion duvet cover(which is going round the washing machine for the second time still not come out)
and the third and final blow....
i recieved a lovley little letter from the council tax department
saying because of late payments (which i struggle to pay anyway) there are canceling my monthly scheme and want £320 by wednesday
i aint got that money
theres a number you can call if you cant pay
so i will call them monday and see what happens
so needless to say i have not been in the best of moods today
hopfully everything will be fine
i worry too much

last week i spent a lot of time in birmingham
meeting various friends
inbetween meeting i took the oppertunity to walk around one of my favorate geek shops
but after 2 minutes of browsing i was hit with the might urge to go to the toilet
so i ran out the shop
ran over the road
to one of those new "pay as you go" toilet booths
so i inserted my 10p
TEN BLOODY PENCE
just to do as nature intended
so put my money in
nothin happens
then another 10p
the door opens
so i get in there
press the button to close the door
it closed
then opened
then closed
then opened
and so on
i was getting fed up with this
so i just left
i was sooooo desperate
so i went into a nearby bar
and toddled off to the loo
however
i heard a voice
EXCUSE ME
you cant use our toilet if you dont have a drink
so i went to the bar paid one pound for a coke
drank the fastest ive ever drank in my life
then i made it to the loo
ooooh heaven
it cost me £1.20p
i only went to spend a penny

ok its as they say the end of the road for the death magnetic blog
the good news is the album entered the charts at number one

as ive been counting down to the release of metallicas DEATH MAGNETIC ALBUM i thought i would write a track by track review of the album
ok so here what i think

1.THAT WAS JUST YOUR LIFEstarts of with a heartbeat effect and goes in to an almost creepy guitar lick then come the immense cruching riffs.
yes my friends METALLICA HAVE RETURNED!!!!!
then james step up with the vocals.
crunching verses
excellant chorus
alot like the song "motorbreath" from 1983s kill em all album
then halk throgh kirk delivers a bone cruncher of a solo
what a great start to a great album

2.THE END OF THE LINE
familiar intro
the intro was played on the bands 2006 tour as part of a song dubbed "the new song" which was a really good song
sadly the intro is the only thing that survived of the song which to be honest dosent really matter as this version is good anyway
the intro gives way into some seriously good guitar work and some mega crunching riff
NEED MORE AND MORE TAINTED MISERY james loudly sings
this song is to me instantly catchy
the guitars cruch all the way through
james voice is the strongest if heard in a long time
personally i really love the chorus on this song
YOUVE REACHED THE END OF THE LINE james sings with classic hetfield charm
a great crunch intrusmental break lights this song up
then theres a lovley bridge part james sing beautifully slow
utters the words "the slave becomes the master"
repeats harder and harder
great stuff
what way to end a great song
one of my favorates on the album

3. BROKEN BEATEN AND SCARRED
this one dosent beat around the bush
a great fusion of guitars riffs its great musical value
and once again james voice is on top form
the vocal melody of this is almost a bouncy feel
"you rise you fall youre down and you rise again"
it really rolls of the tongue if you ask me
its hard to listen to this without banging youre head
its crunches like a box of crisp under a stampede of rhinos
SHOW YOUR SCARS!!!

4.THE DAY NEVER COMES
of course this was the first single from the album
and what a single it it
its haunting guitar intro pulls you in
and the lovley licks that follow leave you there begging for more
then we get a lovley little solo
then james starts singing
this mans voice melts me
he could sing baba black sleep and the hairs on the back of my neck would still stand on end
this song was the perfect choice has everything you need for a perfect rock
serene guitars
piercing riffs
mad drums
soft vocals hard vocals
superb

5.ALL NIGHTMARE LONG
another one of my favorates
an almost mysterious intro
creates the air of mystery
but then it crunches into a pure feast of metal
this is old school metallica
LUCK
RUNS
OUT
growls james
then it kicks into one of finest heavy metal songs ive heard it a very long time

6.CYANIDE
another corker
robs bass really shines through on this track
its a good old sing along metallica song
excllent chrous
"suicide ive already died just the funeral ive been waiting for"
its a good old finger tapper
theres no question of the bands musical abillity
but this track turns it up a notch
then we have a fantastic bridge
where james asks
"say is that rain or are they tears?"
a total change of tempo
then business picks up again
kirk peels out a blinding solo
again back into the hard vocals
another piece of perfection

7. THE UNFORGIVEN III
third of the mighty trilogy
theres no question the first two unforgiven songs are pure metallica classics
the first which was featured on the bands 1991self titled fith album (known commonly as the black album) is a self pitying grind on a mans sorry existance
the second feautured on 1997s reload album was more of a tragic love song
but both started with an almost spaghetti western affect
and both cointain the line "what ive felt what ive known" in the chorus
so of course thats what we came to expect from the third offering
but man where we wrong
it starts with a purley melodic pinao and violin combo and the horns in the back ground slightly remanicant of the 1991 orignal
but thats where the similarites end
robs steps up to the plate and shows why hes one of the world greatest bass players
the the singing starts
catcthy
i love singing this song
its slighty moving but brilliant
then the chorus starts
"how can i be lost if ive got nowhere to go? search the seas of gold how come its got so cold?how can i be lost? in remberance i i relive how can i blame you when its me i cant forgive?"
fantastic
this song can only be called one thing
EPIC
half way through u here james bruding
forgive me
forgive me not
then kirk burts into possibly the greatest guitar solo of all time
the song ends as great as it started
in my eyes the best track on the album by far
but nothing like the first two unforgivens
its better if you ask me

8.THE JUDAS KISS
starts crunchingly
and crunches through boldy for over seven minutes
fast pace vocals
fast guitars
one blistering song
BOW DOWN AND SELL YOUR SOUL TO ME!!

9.SUICIDE AND REMDEMPTION
an instrumental
im not really big on intrumentals
i like a good sing along to be fair
but honestly its not a bad instrumental
it displays how talented the band are
but there was no question of that

10.MY APOCALYPSE
the final song makes sure the album ends with fire works
an old fashioned metal stomper
with shade of 1983s "whiplash "
and this is the song on the album that references DEATH MAGNETIC
posibly the hardest track on the alum
what a way to end it

in my eyes the album is amazing
best they have done in years
cant wait for next one

ok the day has arrived
metallicas death magnetic album officially it the shops today
but of course it was met with conversy
the album was billed for a september 12th release
however
a record store in france released it week early
and it was leeked on the internet for anyone to download
then yestarday a high street uk store decided to start selling it early
then all other shops followed suit
i must admit i got mine yestarday
however
it didnt ruin mine and my mate bucks listening party today
we cranked up the music
and the album is soooo good
buck paid £75 for the coffin box set (which im pictured with as well as my £10 cd)
hope you enjoyed my countdown
it was well worth it
blog will now be back normal
however death magnetic album review coming soon

FIVE hours of special coverage on Radio 1 including interviews with the guys and a broadcast of the show from the night before. You can listen live to these programs or listen at your leisure for seven days afterwards online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
And of course it's the night of the second "Death Magnetic" release party at the 02 Arena. Unfortunately, this show is now sold out.

Tuesday, September 16 -
The band visits "Later with Jools Holland" and there is a live 'taster' show that night on BBC2 from 10-10:30pm with the band playing one track. The full hour long show goes out on Friday, September 19 on BBC2 11:30pm, followed by a repeat of the Metallica "Culture Show" special.

im making a return to sandwell hospital radio eight years after parting company

where arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand
children in the bushes smoking weed
and one in five people face poverty and need
but the people in power just dont care
sitting with whiskey and cigars in their chair

the credit crunch is hitting us all
the world is heading for a financial fall
we take for granted everything that we buy
but now the prices are way too high
with this monitry presure its hard just to chill
when worrying how to pay every bill

thugs on the street make you scared to go out
with the fear of being attacked by a lout
anything valuble they will happily grab it
just to feed that nagging drug habbit
a night on the tiles isnt always a laugh
as it often ends in alcohol fuelled wrath

in every country its worse than before
as it seems the world is ready for war
ready to fight over some oil
killing each other and to the winner the spoil
and the great mister bush has to have his say
using the world as puppets just to do things his way

no jobs for the people who are willing to work hard
do anything to get their name on a clocking on card
many desperate to be on the payroll
as they have had enough of life on the dole
but some people it suits them just fine
spending their giros on ciggies and wine

struggling to survive the day to survive the day to day grind
looking for a better life that you never seem to find
some of us know we will never have a lot
and we must really accept what we have got
so life will never turn out the way that we planned

the only thing they ever groped

no strangers to big words
they quote them all with passion
the only words they dont know
are street cred and fashion

sadly these guys

the only thing that exites them
is their comic book collection

most of these poor nerds
have never had a lover
some of them are forty five
and still live with their mother

some of them cant get a lady
because of their nerdy looks
the only thing they take to bed

this is minor celebrity iain lee
you may reconise him
then again you may not
but this man is the most self absorbed vile specimens my poor ears have ever had the misfortune to listen to
he presents a number of podcasts and radio shows
but he shouldnt be allowed on air
his attitude towards people is disgusting
he cuts callers off and calls them idiots
when they have done nothing wrong
theres lots of vile things this cretin says to people who listen to his show and put food on his table
people call him up to speak to him on is show and he just rubbishes them
like one time a young lady goes live on webcam to speak with him
he as the nerves to call this girl a "minger"
then he had an asian man on the fone
this a*sehole turn round and say that he probably smells as washing is against his religion
disgusting!!!
and im not the only one who thinks his actions are vulger
a few weeks back a lady called his show to confront him of hios attitude
he just made her look small

only seventeen days to go
ooh the excitment

metallica played stunning sets at the reading and leeds festival
there was a behind the scenes feature and an interview with lars on sundays bbc3 footage
and the complete reading set will be on bbc 3s red button service all day friday
plus there is a live video from leeds of the day that never comes
i may post this one day if youre lucky

and on bbc 2 this sunday night there will be a culture show special behind the scenes of death magnetic its starts at 11.20pm
