its good to be back

hi
sorry again for the lack of blogs
but ive been away
i spent a few days in blackpool
so i thought id post a poem i wrote whilst i was there

sin city
by sean gould

sin city is jam packed
almost every night
usually kicks off
with a violent cat fight

parties of drunks
constantly line the streets
smelling of alcohol
and the burgers they eat

drunken jack the lad
thinks he could get any girl he likes
but he gets out of hand
when hes told to take a hike

the average man
works hard from day to day
then takes his money to old sin city
and gambles it all away

theres lots of entertainment
singers dancers and if youre in a funny mood
there are lots of great comedians
but most of them are rude

there are special gentlemans clubs
where lots of ladies walk around
they will dance on your lap
and take their clothes off if you give them twenty pounds

im not into drugs
but some people are just hooked
there are lots right here in sin city
you only have to look

so take a look around
there is so much here to see
when you need a bit of fun
sin city is the place to be

ill leave you with this

ok
heres the thing
im going away for a few days
so this is my last blog until monday
so im gonna leave you with this poem

glory days
by sean gould

the glory days of willow the wisp
when you could taste the flavour on your crisp
when ponty pandy was proctected by fireman sam
and postman pat still had his big red van
when gary coleman was in different strokes
when people still laughed at jim davisons jokes

before jamie oliver was on the tv
the big celebrity chef was rusty lee
when saturday telly was jimmy cricket and little and large
when the england football team won games with bobby robson in charge
ghostbusters and goonies were the films of the day
and credit crunch were words we just didnt say

when danger mouse had penfold by his side
when prince charles took as his first bride
barrymore was the entertainment king
when telephones had only one ring
when pot noodles still tasted good
when a walt disney fox played robin hood

leslie crowther hosted stars in their eyes
when kingsize mars bars were really king size
the days before marathans were called snickers
when nora batty had wrinkled stockings and bog frilly knickers
and roy walker hosted catchphrase
oh yes my friends those were the glory days

whatever happened to bella emberg?
i remember her has that chubby woman on the russ abbot show
to be honest for a long time i thought she was dead
but shes not
so i consulted wikapedia
sadly theres not a lot on her
but this is what i found
Bella Emberg (born Sybil I. Dyke 16 September 1937 in Hove, Sussex, England, UK) is a British actress probably best known for her appearances on The Benny Hill Show and The Russ Abbot Show, where she notably played Blunderwoman. She has also appeared in Softly, Softly and Z Cars.
Her professional debut was in weekly repertory in Ryde, Isle of Wight — the summer season 1962.
Bella has featured in Doctor Who, BBC One's ever-popular science fiction series, a total of 3 times. In the 1970s, she had uncredited roles in the Third Doctor serials Doctor Who and the Silurians and The Time Warrior. More recently, in 2006, she was seen in the Tenth Doctor episode "Love & Monsters", where she played Mrs Croot. A second appearance as Mrs Croot was recorded for "The Runaway Bride" but cut before transmission.
i do remember seeing her in doctor who in 2006 shes lost a lot of weight
i tried to find the clip of it
but sadly i failed
but instead i will leave you with a classic clip of her and russ abbot

what ever happened to.........matthew corbett?

ok
i want to start a new regular segment on the blog
i wanna look up old celebrities from yestaryear and see what they are up to nowadays
so the first one i wanna look at is matthew corbett
i remember from the sooty show in the 80s
of course you dont hear of him now
so i hit the web to find out his whereabouts
this is what wikipedia has to say
Matthew Corbett (born 28 March 1948) in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, born Peter Graham Corbett, is an English television personality best known for The Sooty Show and latterly Sooty and Co.
He took over Sooty from his father Harry Corbett in 1976, and retired in 1998.
Corbett was born in Guiseley, West Riding of Yorkshire. In the late 1960s or early 1970s, he had to choose another stage name, as there was already another Peter Corbett registered. He kept his surname, but when choosing his new first name he was told it must be a name that is long, and so he chose the name of Matthew; for television purposes he has always remained as Matthew Corbett.
He appeared in the 1971 Doctor Who serial The Dæmons and was a regular performer in the Thames Television children's show Rainbow, where he sang and performed and wrote with Rod Burton and Jane Tucker as Rod, Matt and Jane, later better known as Rod, Jane and Freddy.
In 1976 Corbett left Rainbow to take over The Sooty Show from his father, Harry Corbett, on his retirement. He himself retired in 1998 after 22 years, and hand-picked Richard Cadell to replace him, and the show is still going strong.
Of late, Matthew Corbett has withdrawn from most public and media attention. The former Sooty Show presenter lives in Lymm with his wife Sallie. Back in 2005, he noted that he would be playing guitar with his friend John Gray around pubs in Manchester. For this, he has gone back to his real name Peter Corbett.
In January 2008, Corbett reappeared on television, presenting local interest programme shown on the Granada Television region of ITV, Locks and Quays, featuring a journey from the east coast of England to the west coast along waterways such as the River Humber, Aire and Calder Navigation and Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
On Sooty's 60th birthday in 2008, he said that the bear was "in, or should I say on, the right hands".[1]
well there u go
he joined a band
then made a show on canals
heres a clip
